This is the peak of consumerism

http://www.sugarfactory.com/index.php/yum/signature_series

People actually pay $25 for a lollipop just because it has a "blinged out" handle. You can go to the grocery store and buy a whole bag for $5 and I bet they taste better.

  • What's with the celebrity endorsement there? Ick.
  • That website hurt my eyes.

I'll take a tootsie pop over that any day.

And betrothed, I'm disgusted with most of the comments that you have posted. I don't think I've ever read such judgmental comments in my life. I'm so lucky that the girls I speak to on theknot are nothing like you...I would've never come on here for ADVICE if I would've encountered a big a bitch as you. I genuinely feel awful for your children or your future children, and I think it would be irresponsible of YOU not to invest in their future therapy sessions starting now. Because trust me when I tell you honey, they're gonna need it. ~jcaruncho2010

  • Ew. Just no.

You should ask her if you can eat one. Then report back to us how bad they taste.

I wish I would have invented them, I'd be rich.
  • Can you, like, replace the lolipop? Or is that a one shot deal? Either way, that's dumb.

  • You can replace it. The handles cost like $22. So the lollipop is quite cheap.

  • Thats just odd. Like really, really odd.

It wouldn't be SO bad if they didn't have series named after "celebrities". I want a Jon Hamm lollipop. Just saying.

I think they have it at Serendipity here in NYC. It comes with a bracelet or something like that.

ETA: Yes, it's a $1000 sundae. You have to order it 48 hours in advance, but it doesn't say what it comes with. Here's the menu: $$$
  • Don't they advertise those in TK magazine? Or was it Brides? You know, the section where they have classifieds for vendors. Those really creep me out. Sort of like the classifieds in the back pages of Cosmo.

Come to think of it....I coudln't tell you the last time I read an issue of Cosmo, it's been that long. Wow, I must be growing up.

  • Sad. That martini is made with Grey Goose. You'd think for $18k they'd use a decent vodka. Of course, I prefer gin martinis (and Jens), there's that.

They make the $18,000 martini with Grey Goose?! Nothing against the Goose, but come on!

    ETA: Jinx, mara. Haha.
