k, this might be an odd question for you Nates but are you on a full official lock down? I only ask because I know that in our rules (completely different country mind you) we can't use our phones or our computers...if I were stuck in a lock down for hours with my computer just feet away and not able to use it I think I might die...DIE! (just joking clearly, but still, I am happy that you at least can come on here...)

For those asking Nates why she's stuck - I believe it's because there was a shooter in town that hadn't been caught so they were keeping everyone safe at school. I'm hoping her lack of responses means she got to go home!

Okay, so AW fail on my part.  As soon as I made this thread, we were told "Staff evacuate immediately." 

Cew--I love the marmalade joke!

Numbers--We weren't on full lockdown. Without going into extreme detail, we have 2 levels and we were on the lesser of the two.  Also, my kids had been evacuated and sent to the cafeteria (but we were still stuck waiting).

Everyone--there was an armed fugitive on the loose.  He abandoned a federal marshall's car in our town, which is why we got locked in.  It was insanity!  At first, we just kept the kids inside and entertained them.  After a few hours, though, most parents were there or waiting on line to pick their kids up.  The staff had to stay a total of five hours.  It was fun .

 Yeah, I wasn't so much concerned with you being on TK because of the kids (5 hours into a lock down I figure you aren't really teaching anymore) it was more just that I know that every time our admin talks to us about it we are reminded to stay off our cells and stuff like that...weird that kids could go home but not staff...happy you are out now though. I hope I never have to do one.  We have two as well...lock down and lock out...two different protocols...
