My nephew's third birthday was a couple days ago and his birthday party is tomorrow afternoon. I was planning on going shopping for him either tonight or tomorrow morning, but Ben just texted me to let me know that his mom bought our nephew an "extra gift" so we don't have to worry about it.
I don't know why she does that. For his first birthday I brought him something little, but she had bought a gift for him from "us" too so I felt kinda weird about it. I skipped getting him something for his second birthday because I predicted (and was right) that she'd get him a gift for us. Ben is the youngest of his siblings, so perhaps she still thinks she has to do that for him or something... but I mean, he's 27 years old. Come on now.
I feel weird about being slightly pissy about it to myself because I love my MIL. She is amazing and such a blessing to me, and compared to my sister's MIL I really hit the MIL jackpot, lol. It's just this one little thing......... I have no idea how I would approach her about it.
