Stupid law school does not respect my wedding and pretty pretty princess day!!!  I shall have to inform them about their mistakes.

Thanks about the e photos.  I was very nervous about how I look now so it was nice that I didn't hate them!
I just left my Torts class.....where I didn't pay attention worth a damn.  I looked at personalized cake boxes for the wedding.  <sigh />  I am not being a good law student at the moment.  I should be working on my legal writing research but I'm knotting instead.  I love this weather.  It makes me curl up in my blankets with a hot drink and a great book. <strong> I need this weekend to be here now.

• I won't be entertaining. I am super pissed right now. We just had ourselves a nice ass-handing lecture about sloppy work...come to find out the editors looked at the wrong damn thing when they were specifically told not to. But were we apoligized to? NO. Instead we (3 of us) have to rewrite everything because upper management is convinced we suck even though it was someone else's mistake.

I can't wait to get home and just stare at the TV the rest of the night.
• ...Red velvet.  It's what we're having at the wedding.  I've never had it before!  You know how when you know of a food and you think you have a good idea of what it would taste like?  That's what I'm experiencing with this red velvet cake.

• jcb- That sounds fun, I am also a jewelry hoar. What is your favorite thing you own? Besides your e-ring/wedding ring.

• OH!  And... my wedding band is here :) so I'm excited about that.  I'm planning on being a big old AW tonight.

• I'm home scanning a bunch of old photos and printing copies for my mom for my uncles memorial service on Saturday. We're leaving to drive down to GA tonight. My mom had a really bad blood clot in her leg (she has to give herself blood thinner injections in the stomach twice a day - yikes!) and was told she cannot fly so we rented a minivan and mom, dad and my sis who lives in NJ are all driving down together. It's a 14 hour drive each way. This weekend is going to be rough. On a bright albeit creepy note I can't get over how much my mom as a little girl and me as a little girl are the same kid. I think I was cloned.

• I had another frustrating doctor's appointment again in which my doctor berated me for not doing yoga. Thanks. I would love to do yoga. I'm just finding difficulty fitting it in between 6:30pm, when I get home, and 10:30pm, when I go to bed. I would love to do it. However, I have decided that cooking dinner, cleaning, paying bills and orher necessary activities like food shopping take priority. And I have to work, so that won'r change. And I loved the coment when she asked when I was going to stop tryiing to get pregannt so she can put me back on drugs. I got married SEVEN weeks ago. Uggh, she is such a rude, judgey bitch.

• I'm sorry to hear about your uncle, kcullen :( That sucks.  And I hope your mom starts doing better, too.

That's funny though about the pictures.  My youngest sister (the blondie on the very far left in my sig pic) is a clone of my dad.  Pictures of him when he was younger, it's just too funny.  He looks like Deidra, with a boy haircut.

• I need to be finishing a lot of crap for work today since I'm off tomorrow. I made all my appointments in one day and took of work to get it all done. Quick rundown of tomorrow:
1- renew car registration
2- walk across hall to get marriage license
3- final hair cut/color/trial
4- order beer and wine
5- final dress fitting and bustle tutorial
6- final makeup trial
7- b-pics

Then i might just die of exhaustion, and i'm pretty sure my car will need more gas. I'll be broke, but pretty!

Alli, have you thought of going to a new doctor? That attitude just rubs me the wrong way. I don't like doctors that don't have a good bed side manner so to speak. She shouldn't be berating you or discouraging you from trying to conceive, she should be encouraging you and supporting you and advising you in a professional manner of her medical opinions on said topics. That's no way to treat a patient. Sorry you had to put up with that.

• We had red velvet as the groom's cake. It's so good.

• kcullen- sorry to hear about your uncle. My mom and I are twins as well, any pic of us younger than 10 is creepy identical.

sesh- sorry to hear about your editors, it seems like you've been putting up with a lot of BS lately from other's mistakes.

AATB- I got my ring at the last minute, which in retrospect was perfect because I wanted to wear it RIGHT THEN.

• Red velvet tastes like play-doh to me. *shudder*

I'm sitting on my couch, where I've sat all day. I did cut my hair, but it's crazy short now and I'm trying to decide if I like it. I think I do. It looks like that cartoon chick on that new movie Megamind.
• Haha, Bec.  I still feel good about the red velvet choice.  I asked lots of people about their favorite cake flavors, and most people told me red velvet.  And our cake lady got excited when I told her, apparently she has a really good recipe.

reddy I'm so excited about my ring, too!!!  And yes, it does warrant three exclaimation points.

• Diets suck.

I am sightly miserable today because I went to the gym last night for the first time in two weeks, and only had enough time for a quick half hour workout.   I did sprints.  Sitting in this damn office chair all day has made me stiff.

And I want fudge.
panther
• I feeel your pain. I haven't had sugar or artificial sweeteners in 20 days. I really want to curl up with a handful (or bag full) of candycorn tonight. I'm debating on continuing the fast until the wedding, or trying some moderation after my final fitting tomorrow. If I continue the fast, I may lose more weight and then my dress would fall off and that wouldn't be cute at all.

• Oh I didn't mean anything towards your cake choice, AATB! It's very trendy right now, and if I go to a wedding with it, I just have another martini at the open bar during the cake part. :)

My sister LOVES red velvet cake. She made one for my spa day/bachelorette day, because she forgot that I loathe it. I had to eat a HUGE piece so I wouldn't hurt her feelings, and I thought I was going to throw up. I almost died when she offered me another piece! Again, *shudder*

Lol oh I wasn't offended :) I know ultimately that whatever we ended up deciding, someone more than likely wouldn't like it.  And, whatever.  That's the way it is with everything about a wedding.
Thanks AATB, JB & reddy, he's been sick for several years, unfortunately alcohol related pancreatic disease. I have a lot of guilt and anger and all that fun stuff going on personally. But mostly I'm just being there for my mom, she lost her other brother when I was a baby, her dad about 13 years ago and her mom has Alzheimer's so it's tough. I've never heard her cry like I did when she called me to tell me about my uncle, broke my heart. I hope she feels better too, in addition the blood clot (not the first she's ever had) she has a mysterious infection in the same leg. I really don't like this whole my parents getting older thing...
Posted by kcullen37
Oh, I am so sorry. My mother has been caring for my father for the last 3 years as he lost a lower leg to diabetes and then diagnosed with colon cancer. She spends 24 hours a day caring for him, and while he isn't getting worse, he is not getting any better. Watching your parents age and get sick is so hard.
In Response to Re: Entertain me? : I wish. When I was in the waiting room, anoither patient came out that had obviously just seen her and she said something to her that upset her as well. The medical assistants were pretty upset and were whispering about it. I have faiiled the three major drugs that treat MS. I am out of options. She wants me to try to be desensitized to one of them, and I just won't do it. The allergy doc she sent me to was worse than her - I was there for 5 hours waiting to see her, and she told me flat out that desensitization only works 40% of the time. I can't live with the side effects of the drugs. It;s easy to tell someone to be on a med, but unless you are the one that has to live with red itchy lumps all over your body, don't judge me for not doing it. She has no clue what it is like to love with this disease. Reading a textbook does not mean you understand it. When I told her that H & I were trying to conceive, she asked "Well how long are you doing that for?" I snapped back "Until it works".
Posted by allisong23
Wow Alli, I reading that made me tear up. I'm so sorry, I angers me so much when doctors who are supposed to make people FEEL better are such nasty people. It makes me think the only reason they went into the profession was for the paycheck and that they don't actually care about people at all. I can't imagine what it must be like to live with MS. A good friend of mine has it and some days it's a struggle just to get up and go to work. To think these docs are trying to push you into medication that will make you feel worse on a day to day is upsetting. I hope your visits with her get better, and if not that you can find another doctor nearby you to see instead because you don't deserve to be treated that way by anyone, especially not someone you/your insurance is paying!
