Something Borrowed movie

I read the book something borrowed and got to see the movie yesterday. Can I say SOOOO dissapointed    Wont put details in case anyone hasnt seen it yet but they changed and left out so much wow. I even like Kate Hudson movies but this was sad. One of the worst books to movies I have ever seen. Sorry needed to vent that out.

  • i saw that last night.. i haven't read the book YET but plan to.  I hope the book is better, i'm sure it will be... cause the movie was pretty much just bad.  It was OK until the end... that end was HORRIBLE!

  • Seriously?? I've had a bunch of conversations with friends who LOVED the movie. I thought it followed the book pretty well, and the characters were perfect.

I mean, I guess you might hate the movie if you hadn't read the book yet, just due to the plot line?  But, I thought it was great.
  • I hated it. I just hated the plot and N and I both hated the characters.
  • I can understand why you wouldn't like the movie, because of the plot.  I kind of felt that way reading the book.  But, going into the movie knowing what to expect? I loved it. :)
  • Yeah, I can't comment on book to movie transition.  But, seriously, we discussed this the other day.  Most movies pale in comparision to the book versions, simply because there is not enough time to delve into the subplots and subtext of a novel.

Not knowing the characters ahead of time, I did really like the choice of actors for each character.  Kate Hudson seemed a little older than the other characters, but I enjoyed their performances.
  • Darn I was so looking forward to seeing it.  Maybe I'll went til I can rent it.  On the other hand, I saw Bridesmaids this weekend and LOVED it!!

  • I was really disappointed too. I felt like the acting was pretty bad (except Jon K. - Ethan) and, granted, I did not read the book but I wanted to punch the plot (and the ending) in the face. How was that guy worth fighting over, pining over, and bascially underminding one's self-worth for exactly? I won't spoil the ending but the fact that THAT was the happy ending - for a cute, smart, kind-hearted woman (if one who makes terrible decisions) that's a sad definition of ultimate happiness if you ask me.

  • Yeah... I have the book on my kindle and plan on reading it.  I'll probably like the book better ( I usually do ) but the movie was just 'ehhhhh...' for me!  The things that aggravates me is that I was out with one of my Bridesmaids and it was between that and Bridesmaids and we chose something borrowed and neither of us were impressed.  We both wished we had picked bridesmaids =\  Oh well... it wasn't the WORST movie I've ever seen by a long shot! Just wish I hadn't paid for it =x haha
