I need help finding a wedding band to look good with my e-ring!!

I thought about just a plain 2 or 3mm white gold band but I don't necessarily want a plain band. I've also thought about a regular diamond channel set band BUT i want a diamond guard ring (I want it now but we can't afford it til our 1 year anniversary) so i don't want to get a diamond wedding band and then a diamond guard ring as well. I've also thought about a white gold band with diamonds that are spaced out. Please give me advice :) p.s. the band is larger towards the middle and smaller on the sides so that makes it even harder!

Re: I need help finding a wedding band to look good with my e-ring!!

  • my e-ring is similar to yours in the "bigger towards the center, smaller on the sides" thing. This is what I've got - I didn't choose it (set was my grandmothers) but I think having a band that does something similar to the band on the e-ring makes it look cool. You'll probably have to go custom though...maybe.

  • Thanks for your advice ladies :) I know that I definitely want to have my wedding band different from my engagement ring. I just feel like I want a traditional wedding band I just have to figure out which style works best with my e-ring. The ring that I want is a diamond contour guard ring (basically just to make my e-ring look bigger), that my future-husband and I will have to save up for and get it as an anniversary gift. I was trying to get the wedding band to not clash with a contour diamond guard band. So I'm either going to get a diamond band (and pray that I can find a contour diamond guard ring to match the diamond setting of the diamond wedding band), a plain white gold band, or a white gold band with diamonds spaced out (I would use six diamonds from my mom's wedding ring). Do y'all have any opinions on those three options?

p.s. LDYGTR13 your set is very pretty and unique! that may be another option I'll look into!
  • Ditto Duds. Just hold off. H had my e-ring custom designed so we couldn't find a wedding band that looked right with it for awhile. I didn't get the band until 6 months or so after the wedding. I'm glad I waited and got the right one. :)

    FYI, my ring...

  • We waited too long to look for wedding bands, and I couldn't find anything that I liked at all to go with my ring so I just bought a cheapy plain white gold band for the wedding. (I think we got it at Kay for maybe $100) I liked it with the just plain gold band and didn't look for anything else after the wedding. My H surprised me with a ring that he had made to fit with my e-ring for Christmas and I really like it, too. Now I just switch it up so I use both of them.

  • I would wait until you can get the ring you want.  I've seen lots of people do that.  I happened to find what I wanted, but FI got me a solitaire e-ring so I had lots of options for wedding band to make it my own.  Obviously that's harder to do with yours (which is super beautiful, BTW).  I don't think there's anything wrong with waiting for something you truly want.
