Snarky Brides

Cookie Survey

I think it's officially time for a batch of holiday cookies.

I'm bored and indecisive today.  This place is slow.

What kind of cookies should I make and what movie should I watch while doing it?  I'm feeling something epic.  Shindler's List is a little deep for cookie-making I think.  Any suggestions?

EDIT:  That should be Sprinkles - I don't know what prinkles are but they sound fun  :)

Re: Cookie Survey

They're not my overall favorite but as far as looks go they are.  They can be so pretty.
  • I'd say they're my favourite holiday cookie. I like big gooey chocolate chip  and peanut butter cookies more.
  • I have to modify one of your options from iced sugar cookie to iced Snickerdoodle. I made Snickerdoodles the other night and now they're all gone and it's making me wistful.

  • Sugar cookies, muthafuckas!

I think we are going to make rice krispie treats today. They are such a mess, but I know Ben will have a blast making them.
  • I'd make my grandmother's cookies, but they're a family secret.  Ok, not really, but you pretty much have to grow up making them in order to make them right.

But, I vote that you watch The Santa Clause.  I love Tim Allen.

  • I LOVE SUGAR COOKIES!

Imagine me saying that in the voice of a motherf*ckin bear who loves his snuggie.  It sounded the same in my head.
  • When you said prinkles sounded fun, I imagined Buddy the Elf's voice.  "What's a Christmasgram? I want one!"

i have a fe of those recipes too.  My grandma eyeballed everything.  Some of her recipe cards say "add liquid until it looks right".

Santa Clause!  I love that movie!

  • Orange spritz cookies, sooooooo good. Its like fruit loops in cookie form.
  • Since you have a cookie press, I have a recipe for cream cheese cookies that are amazing. The flavoring ingredient is jello pudding mix, so you can make them in any flavor that jello pudding comes in. My mom makes pistachio flavored cookies every year in the shapes of little trees using the cookie press. Good stuff. I made three batches this weekend for a party and they were a hit! If you're interested, I'll post the full recipe.
  • You forgot "I love cookies" as an option.

And also, I haven't seen a "Cew's a megabitch" option on a poll for ages.

    please do
  • Cream cheese cookies:

    1 cup sugar
    1 cup margerine, softened
1 8 oz pkg cream cheese, softened
    1 tsp vanilla
    1 egg
    2 1/4 cups flour
1 3.4 oz pkg instant pudding mix (cheesecake, pistachio, devil's food, pumpkin (seasonal), french vanilla are all great)
    1 tsp baking powder
    1/2 tsp salt

In large bowl, beat sugar, margarine and cream cheese until light and fluffy.  Add vanilla and egg; beat well.  Combine flour, pudding mix, baking powder and salt in separate bowl.  Add flour mixture to cream cheese mixture; mix well.  Cover and refrigerate at least 1 hour for easier handling.

Heat oven to 350 degrees.  Grease cookie sheets (I don't), so it depends on your cookie sheets.  If you're going to use your press, I definitely would not grease the cookie sheet.  Bake at 350 for 9 to 12 minutes or until set.  Cool on cookie sheet for 2 minutes, then remove to rack.

  • I love spritz cookies... and now I might need to make some myself :)

Totally interested!  That recipe looks awesome! i have some pumpkin spice pudding and some butterscotch pudding.  Butterscotch would be delightful with a drizzle of chocolate on top.
