Okay. So, I've found I have an issue with many internet forums similar to the Knot (you know boards about life, weddings, that sort of thing). I feel as if a ton of people are just jerks. They think their opinion is the end all be all. They assume they know everything about a person or topic when they clearly can't. I HATE when people don't answer the question being asked or 20 people put the EXACT same answer because they didn't bother to read anything... does this gnaw on anyones nerves?
Take for example the Knot forums (because obviously we all use them)... I feel like people will jump on one poorly worded sentence or an idea that isn't totally fleshed out and then it's like animals attacking a carcus. Take for example a post I made where I used a personal pronoun that wasn't we. It was a slip, more of a typo really... suddently it's 5 people are telling me to call off my engagement, I'm too young to get married because I didn't say we and you're only a we when your married, and all kind of absurd stuff. Yes. When I post something I expect to get people's opinions, but crap! I don't need to be insulted or told I clearly don't understand what love is.
Now, this happens all over the internet, but recently it's really started to annoy me. I'm an adult. I'm young sure, but I've got a BA and I'm working towards MA... don't talk to me like I'm a moron. And why not answer what I asked?!
Maybe I'm spending too much time worrying about it, but geeze, it acting like an adult, being nice, using manner and the like so much to ask? If I asked what color is better green or blue to a group of friends, they'd answer green or blue, not write a novel on how blue is so over done and green makes people want to eat and so my wedding should be pink or something as absurd.
AND end rant.
Anyone else feel this way sometimes? It comes and it goes, but recently people on the interweb have been rubbin' me the wrong way with the way they'll be so darn rude. I mean would they act like that in real life?!
