So, as ive mentioned, im planning a vacation for this coming summer. I am PLANNING for jun 25th to July 2nd. I really want to rent a cottage or vacation house where we are going, and I am worried if I wait too long to book, nothing will be available.

My other worry, there is this outdoor concert fest here called Edgefest - it is AMAZING. They didnt have one this past summer but they have announced they for SURE are next summer - but it wont be officially announced until some time in february. It generally takes place any time between mid june to mid july. I have been waiting since last summer to go again, because there is always a bunch of my faves playing.

I am concerned if I book NOW, knowing my luck the concert will fall at the same time I am away. Most of the places I am looking into require a deposit or SOMETHING.

I dont know what to do? please tell me.

I say book it to make sure you get the vacation that you want. That being said, I know I would be annoyed if the one week I was taking a vacation was the same as a fun event.

Edit- I say this assuming that's the best time for you to get time off. If you have other times you can go I would wait.

EdgeFest is around here too. My sister used to go to it I think.

I'm not sure what to tell you to do about the vaycay. Personally, I'd be more upset if I missed out on something related to vacation rather than missing the concert, but you might not be.

Just try to decide what's more important to you. Maybe when the dates come out you'll realize you didn't have anything to worry about.

I vote wait for the concert announcement.  You might have to go with your less than desire location for staying, but it's worth it for Edgefest.  'Cause I'd be going to. 

Although, I do like cews Bec's idea of booking now and trying to change if the concert is when you're planned to go away.

Two years ago Edgefest was June 20th, so you might be ok.
