Black Friday?

I am watching the news and they were saying that less than the normal amount of people will be out for Black Friday. Do you shop on Black Friday or are you like me and stay out of any mall's zip code??

S.N. I was sad that I didn't make the SB list a few threads below but I do understand.  I miss many of you and I see that you all are doing pretty good.

I never shop on Black Friday. I hate shopping enough as it is, but on Black Friday? No. My mom dragged me out last year and I about kicked at least 15 people in the shins for annoying me.

My friend had this elaborate plan last year and I just followed her last year.. it was slightly less stressful(sonmeone else did the work) but even just shadowing her... I dont know how people do it and function!

I don't like it, because I already deal with BSC people and idiots on a daily basis. Black Friday intensifies everything by 1,000.

I LOVE BF!  We literally have it marked off on our calendar (my friend and I--FI stays home).

I've gone out shopping once, and it wasn't so bad.  Usually I work, though.  I tried to avoid going back to to retail, but my former manager just called and really needed another person, so I'll be working again this year.  I think I might walk around after I get off and see what's going on, but I definitely won't be going out any earlier than I need to be!

My bestie used to go every year. And this is my "ride or die" bestie!! I never went with her! She would be so excited and I just could never pull myself out of bed at 4am.

Me too. I'm scheduled 4am -noon on Black Friday, and then, that evening I have to go to my other job and serve all the crazies that have been shopping all day and are now broke, tired, and crabby.
At least working the opening shift means that I'm able to find halfway decent parking.

We usually go, especially if we are searching for some larger and/or electronic items.  Last year we bought my dad a high end GPS half off.  We also usually buy a bunch of movies because they are super cheap.

I've gone sometimes, but not at the buttcrack of dawn.  I am going this year to help my mom get a dryer since hers died.  I hope it doesn't involve waking up early.  I am def not getting into any fights over appliances.  I'd rather pay the extra $100.

I work at Target and I LOVE seeing all the crazies running in the door at 5am(4 am this year though, boo)! But before I worked retail, I used to get up at 5 with my mom to go shopping every year since I was 8 or 10. The added bonus was that she would usually buy me some stuff, ha.

I live for Black Friday, it's one of my favorite holidays.  My current record is making 3 return trips home to unload.  One year I had to drive back with the sunroof open to make room for things to fit in through the top.

I try to not even leave the house on Black Friday. Nothing like topping a little parking lot road rage with some mall rage. I'd rather spend the extra money and not deal with the mass quantities of ill-mannered people.

Although, I screwed myself this year. My mom will be down visiting for Thanksgiving and I suggested we go get pedicures that Friday. At the mall. Oy. Luckily, the nail shop is right at the end of the mall and I only have to go through one store to get there. Hopefully I can make it through without wanting to kick someone.

Oh I've already started mapping out my course.  I hit the stores in order of the best door busters, then I run around to as many stores as possible to get the "First 1000" bonus cash.  I can usually make it to 4 stores and get the bonus cash, then I go back to shop there. FI is a little afraid of this year, I'm planning to go ahead and get our BM and GM gifts, and other little wedding gifts to give out.  I'm driving the truck this year :)<div>

I'm usually at the mall at 4am.  A couple of times I've gone to the outlet malls for Midnight Madness to get a jump start.  Depends on how cold it is, the outlets don't fly if it's snowing lol.

I go to Ohio early March every year and that's cold enough for me just during the day. Brrrrr!

Ohio is terrible!  I moved back here from South Carolina a couple of years ago, it ruined me.  I can't handle the cold like I used to. 

The shopping part is fun for me though, I would go shopping every single day if we weren't saving for this wedding.  I know a lot of people that avoid it like the plague.

I love Black Friday shopping.  Everyone has their favorite holidays, Black Friday is mine.  My parents say I was the inspiration for those BF Target commercials with the lady in the red track suit. 

This year I am doing the outlets because the mall deals last year disappointed me.  Most of my shopping on BF is personal stuff.  I wake up at 4am.  On the road by 4:30.  The outlet I'll be going to this year is about 30 mins away from my house so I'll get there at a reasonable 5am.  I am not too pushy but try to take my parking spot when I have my signal on and I will get out of my car screaming like a crazy bitch.  True story.

My Mom and I began going two years ago. We used to make fun of people who went out on this day but goodness it has turned into a major family deal. All the women get together on Thanksgiving and after we each draw names for Christmas we map out our plan and all meet up the next morning very very early. It is actually fun even if you go just to watch people fight over the most ridiculous items. lol
