Snarky Brides

Good Morning!

Hey ladies...

What are you all up to today? How are people feeling? (I get the feeling there were some of you who were drinking last night?)

We are off to Niagara on the Lake to do some wine tasting today. Our house is still a mess (sigh) but I don't care at this point. I am excited to relax and spend some time with DHs family.

Re: Good Morning!

  • Hi! I'm here. I need to study today and I have a ton of laundry to do (what else is new?). We went to visit the ILs this weekend and their cat is trying to kill me. It bit the fuuck out of my hand while we were sleeping and my hand is swollen and sore. I can't even get my rings off. Bastard cat.
  • What are you studying for cew?

Graham and I have considered getting pets in the past but in the end, it just seems like too much work (at this point we feel the same about kids though).  I would not be happy to have a sore hand. Last week I accidentally poured boiling water on my thumb as I was pouring water for tea and my thumb killed for two days (severe 1st degee/minor 2nd degree burn). Injuries in general just suck.
l.  We really needed to get rid of some stuff and my shower gifts are a great excuse to clean so I can put them away.
<div>Yes. We have a slight space problem right now too. This is part of the reason why the house is a mess. We have wedding gifts EVERYWHERE but where they should be. We do not have enough space in our kitchen for them right now so I am going to have to do some rearranging and purging. I love that we got to upgrade but I can't stand living in clutter!</div>
  • Burns are horrible. There is nothing worse than a burn. If my hand isn't better by tomorrow, I think I'll go to the dr. I've been bitten by cats tons of times, but I've never had anything swell like this.

I'm studying for a designation that people in HR get called the PHR (Professional in Human Resources). I take the test in December, but I'm taking a course to help with the test and we have a practice exam on Tuesday.
  • Hi ladies! Jesus Cew, that cat sounds aggressive. Are you allergic to cats as well?

  • I'm not allergic. I love cats. This one is known for being a total asshole, but I let it sleep with me because it was being all sweet and cuddly. And I can't resists a snuggly cat.

I had let Ben sleep in my bed at the ILs because their house is old and creeky and it scares him to sleep in the guest room alone. Well, he's used to sleeping with our baby Chicken and sometime in the middle of the night, he woke up, thought the mean cat was Chicken and grabbed her to snuggle. Mean cat didn't like that a scratched Ben. I pushed the cat away and it grabbed my hand and wouldn't let go. It broke the skin. It's an outdoor cat, so I probably have some flesh eating virus now.

THis is why I don't like cats, CEW. ;)

I had a busy day yesterday capped off by LSU's first loss. But it could have been worse, I could have been a Texas fan.

Today I need to clean more and do some work for, well, work. We'll have the Saints game on later, I'm sure.

Our non-rehearsal dinner, which started out as just us and our parents for a lunch the day before the wedding at a really nice restaurant downtown has turned into dinner (due to flight schedules) for 14 at a great BBQ place. But what to do with my other OOT guests? GAH! Our parents have never met, and his mom has social anxiety issues, so I was trying to have their first meeting be anything but the circus it is turning in to. However, FI is happy to have the other guests (my sisters, his uncle and GW) so that we don't have to moderate the conversation between the parents. Its just not what I pictured, but I can't help it now.

  • Aw, poor Ben just wanted to cuddle with it! I hope your hand ends up okay. That is a weird cat bite reaction for sure. Also, how did I not know you had a cat named Chicken? I feel like Chicken and Monkey have to hang out now, since they probably both have identity crises. Poor things.

  • I'm in mourning this morning and nursing a small hangover.  I plan to spend the day on the couch watching football.  It sounds fantastically awesome since I don't have anymore baseball to watch. ::sniff::

Enjoy Niagara on the Lake, Number!!

Thanks! Yep. She's Chicken. She started out as Godzilla, but then that somehow evolved into Chicken. Not sure how. And how did I not know that you had a Monkey? What the hell? Have we met? I'm Carrie. It's nice to meet you.

OMG! Cew defiantly get that checked out. I've had one bad accident like that. I was asleep and the dog scared the crap out of the cat who in turned decided to use my arm to pull himself into bed. I had a gash in my arm that was so big it swelled up  and I couldn't move my fingers. He didn't mean it, he was just a big baby. But holy crap it didn't heal for 3 weeks. And I still have a scar.

Does this cat have all of its shots?

BTW nothing on the agenda today. Just laundry.

  • Gooood morning!  I had a(nother) hellish, horribly long day at work yesterday, and I slept like crap last night, but none of that matters, because in an hour, I will be on my way to Green Bay for the game!  AHHHHHHHH!

  • My brother ended up with cat scratch fever when he was little after my outdoor cat scratched him (the cat died within a few days). His arm was swollen and bright red. If your neck feels swollen or aches, cew, go to the doc immediately. His glands were so swollen he couldn't even turn his head or eat.

I have to prepare for company today. I don't want to, and the fact that I'm dreading it makes me realize just how unfriendly I am. I don't like company all that much, especially when it's self-invited and involves children who terrorize my cat while the adults sit idly by. H needs to learn to say no.

Nah, I feel you Sesh. DH and I live alone, with no one around. So we are set in our ways. And I think it's the disturbance of that life that drives me nuts when we have people in. His daughter and her husband/and my son, I have no issues with. But last time we had family up, the nephew brought his 2 children and I got stuck watching the youngest, who is known to be a hellion, I was not a happy camper. She was good for me, but in the end she ended up taking pieces from our chess set we have on display. We found them missing after the fact.

    <div>JEALOUS!!! </div><div>
</div><div>Sesh, when I was younger, my cousins tore up our house when they visited once. Their mom was so embarrassed that every other time they came over, they had to stay outside. HA! She told them they could only come in our house to use the bathroom, and weren't allowed to touch anything since they couldn't be trusted to play inside. Of course, all of our cats were outside, so they terrorized them there. They were 3 boys (twins and an older brother), and they all turned out to be great people, but we hated when they came over. They actually melted crayons all over our easy bake oven and it took us weeks to get it clean. </div><div>
</div><div>I think their mom did the same thing to them at home, though. Their house was always neat inside, and the boys were always outside every time we went to visit. My aunt rocks. My mom never had to say anything about it. </div>

  • Yeah these kids went into our room (door was closed) and started throwing my stuffed animals around. One of them was a fragile bear from my first Christmas, another was my Mickey Mouse, and the rest were my Christmas animals. I'm very serious about my stuffed animals and it pissed me off even more that their mom was just watching form the doorway. Who the eff just stands there and watches their kid throw other people's stuff around?

I reamed them out last time, so hopefully today they will stay outside and watch the airshow, no need to come inside since we have an outdoor bathroom.
  • Sesh I don't think that makes you unfriendly at all! Demon was terrorized by my ex's cousins (4 and 3) when we lived together and I was at work. I came home and found her hidden as far under the bed as possible and soaking wet. I never heard the full story but launched into the kids and their parents (earning me so many points as a potential in-law I'm sure). The second company comes over she is under the bed and won't come out for days after they leave.
