Oh goodness. A while back my cousin had plastic swans, bird baths, and tule, EVERYWHERE (all in turquoise and white and it was 'marbled'). It was the 90's, but I don't think that gives her a pass.

I went to one where the color scheme was mint green, bright red, black and white, it was really, really bad.

This is just personal taste, but I hate tall centerpieces because I like to talk to people at the table and I like to see everyone in the room.

I agree with all of the 'tacky' decor, except a balloon arch wouldn't faze me. It wouldn't amaze me either.

Roxy...I hate square mirrors on centrepieces too and was dead set against them until I realized that (in our case) if we didn't use them our vase and glasses might have toppled. In the end it didn't look as bad as I thought it would and kinda reflected the glass nicely. I still would have preferred to not use them.
