Steph, I will admit that Nebb's initial post kinda rubbed me the wrong way, but you can't tell me this post isn't directed at just Nebb.  No one else in the thread told ewhit she was being corny and I am not sure who else you would be referring to if you weren't referring to Nebb.

My mom is happy to watch Whisky when necessary (even if she hates giving him meds), and he is welcome when we go down to visit. But she's already said that we can't bring a dog, and even though they have a huge yard, it's not fenced in. So, we'd have to board.

Ok. I'll clarify myself yet again.  Of course the "seriously" was directed at Nebb. She's the only one (at that point) who had been a douche in this thread.

Holy hell! Our sitter comes in 2 times a day when its just the cat and she's $14 a visit. She came 3 times when Cleo was alive.

Well, if it wasn't, it just didn't really seem very clear in that post.  And antagonizing a person like that isn't really a way to get them to change their tune.  It just pisses them off.

Maybe we should look into a pet sitter instead!  Although, I like the social interaction the pups get, too.

Dot- wtf. For one dog?! Even the really fancy schmany place here is like $40/day.

I'm sorry :(  We've got a sad few years coming up in my mom's house.  We got a few of the dogs around the same time, and they're starting to get up there and look old.

Ha, kd and red - Whisky has a weird system. If we are on the couch, he only cuddles with H (if both of us are there). He will sit right in front of H on the floor and stare at him until he gets into a position he deems worthy, then will leap up and cuddle with him. But in bed, he curls up next to my head all night long. I'm not sure what his reasoning is.

Sesh, he looked just like Baloo the bear when he was little.  I wish I had puppy pictures of him.  He was the cutest roly poly little puppy.  He used to sneak onto my mom's property and we'd find them cuddled up in the horse blankets.  The assholes next door let all of the other puppies in the litter get killed or die from worms, so I ended up stealing him one night ninja style.  My mom was my partner in crime.  It was kind of hilarious.

Edie, I wish I'd done something sooner, but by the time I realized that the puppies were gone it was too late.  Those douches only asked if we had seen Baloo once.  They didn't give a shiit.

No, that is our pet sitter. We really like our animals to stay at home. And the cat has already had nervous issues, he wont even go in the carrier anymore. Last time I tried to get him in it he literally wrapped his paws around my neck.

So we just have the pet sitter. She's worth the money and she'll switch the lights on and off, bring in the mail, papers, etc...
