Snarky Brides

Just a thought.

It really bothers me when people care more about how big their ring is or how fabulous their wedding will be, because in reality a ring is only a rock, and a wedding is only one day. I really wish more people care about the actual marraige. But hey, what the hell does my opinion mean to anyone else.

Re: Just a thought.

  • Buh, buh I wanted 2 carats! And a $100k wedding. My husband doesn't really love me.
  • I know this one girl who told her FI that is he didn't get her AT LEAST 2 CARATS she would say no. I am not kidding. So he got her 3, and they are divorced now.

  • Really. I spelled marriage wrong. Typo, sorry.

  • Well if bigger carats and higher divorce rates have any correlation, then H and I will be married forever. My ring is 1/3 carat. He wanted to get me a huge ring, but I'm not a jewelry person and he knows that, so he let me pick out my wedding set.
  • It's not one day if you at a DW with multiple AHR and have vow renewals every year ;)
  • Maratea, we will be married into infinity as well if size is the predictor.
  • Mine is 1 carat. And I love it. So I will be married forever too. But seriously, who bitches about how big their ring is. Oh wait....

  • I've actully told FI I'd rather have a smaller ring. I don't want to start our life together in a ton of debt, and if we want to we could always upgrade later, but if not no biggie.

I had to laugh at the carat/divorce rate thing... the ring my ex got me was HUGE, he chose it, and he left me within a year. :(

Oh well, now I have my FI :)

  • I didn't get a giant diamond ... but I did get a condo out of my proposal ... I'm not sure if this makes my marriage super-valid or super-doomed.

That is exactly what we feel. Our wedding will be nice, but not like those on TV. If I put anything on a credit card, I pay it off before I buy anything else. It helps me make sure I dont go overboard.

Seriously tonyscutie, why do have to be such a bitch? We are all bitches. And you are even worse for pointing out that there are people out their who are just that petty that they even think about telling their FI how cheap they are when they can't afford anymore :)
    Daisypath Wedding tickers
  • Or that a non diamond gemstone isn't appropriate and means your FI was a slacker, cheap, or didn't care.
Hello, I picked mine out myself.

  • lmfao @ the bonnbonn comment...

Hell i dont even need a real diamond! I am a practical person...no reason to spend uber goobs of money on a ring when you dont have that money to spend....

I hate when people refer to CZ or moissanite is a "fake" ring...wtf no its not...dose it really matter what is set in-between the prongs? I thought it was about the meaning of the ring..

Take him out in the bright sunlight at 7 am. Strip him naked, and tie him down into the ground and make him stay there until he isnt a sickly white anymore. Make sure to give him water and food though, or you may not be getting married :(

That rock is something i will wear everyday for the rest of my life.  Just because I picked out my ring and was very picky, and we bought it together does not mean that we don't know that the marriage is the most important thing.

We also realize that a wedding is just one day, but we would like it to be a nice day for all our guests and for us, since it is the day we are starting our marriage.

Perhaps if you feel this strongly you shouldn't have an e-ring, just a simple wedding band, and you should just go to the courthouse to get married.  That way nothing will take the focus away from the marriage, and you can stay proudly up on your high horse.
