Good morning ladies...

This morning I am taking my car in for it's 96k tune up...it is costing over a grand and that sucks balls this close to the wedding because we aren't exactly drowning in money right now...

What are you all up to?

Good morning!

That sucks about the extra cost so close to the wedding, number.  I hate car maintenance.

Today is my Friday Part 1 because we're off tomorrow in observance of the Jewish holiday, so I'll be napping as soon as I get home.  Or drinking.  We'll see how the day goes.

Luckily, I have awesome kids this year.  Once every few years a really great group comes through and they are just sweet kids who genuinely want to learn (or at least they are nice enough to pretend they do), so I really lucked out.

Morning! You're up early. That sucks about the car, I dread having to take mine in.

I'm going to ask my boss today about my raise. It's been 2 weeks since I sent in my proposal, I think that's long enough.

Yesterday I argued with the health insurance company about a $70 prescription they don't cover because they said it was a cosmetic procedure. Bullshiit it was cosmetic. You try having 2 plantars warts half an inch grown out of the bottom of your big toe and tell me that's purely a cosmetic procedure. You try walking with that on your foot. So now they are sending me a reimbursement form and will hopefully cover part of the cost.

ETA--oh yeah, and last night our AC went out. We went to turn it down before we went to bed, and it just doesn't work. It's digital, and the panel was blank. So it's hot as effing hell in our bedroom. H had to sleep in the guest room because he couldn't stand it. Our house as 2 AC units and this one is new, yet it breaks down all the time while the older one works just fine. I don't get it.

Sesh, insruance companies will try to make a "cosmetic procedure" out of anything.  When I needed new front teeth because mine broke off, they tried to say it was cosmetic.  Ummm, yeah, I was 17 and didn't have front teeth. 

Rach, the NC weather will eventually break from the heat!  I promise

I'm getting ready to head to work, and there are a ton of sirens going by outside.  I hope this isn't any indication of my day.

Ugh. I just got a power bill, and it's over $300 this time. Dumbass heatwave is bankrupting me.

I hope this isn't an indication of how my day is going to go, because otherwise I'm going to respectfully withdraw from Wednesday.

Morning.  Today is back to school day for most of the schools in my area.  Yay for parents!  Thankfully I didn't have to battle any busses this morning, but within a week they'll be back on their normal, slightly late schedule.

Moooorning!  Traffic was crap this morning, but I was on my own since my car-pool buddy has to leave early today, so I got to listen to my audiobook, which makes me happy.

Tonight I finish up the weight lifting program I've been following since January.  I'm a touch excited.  Now, to find somewhere to book my reward massage.

Good Morning Ladies.

DH got up at 1:20am this morning to head off for his annual boat trip with the guys down in Dale Hollow. So it will be a week of drinking, playing poker, and blowing stuff up. I think they are a bunch of 13 year olds.

So I'm on my own for the rest of the week. Good thing he left me his credit card, cause I'm getting a pedicure.

Good Morning, Ladies!
I just hate cars.  Still waiting for the body shop estimate to decide if we are going to purchase my totaled car from the insurance company and fix it anyway.  DH wants to take the money and run, but I want to fix it if it's economically feasible.  We probably won't end up fixing it, and I'm sad about that - it's been a great car and I really liked it.  At least the insurance company will reimburse me for the $750 I spent on new tires 4 DAYS before my daughter totalled it.

Ugh. It's a good thing it's a nice day. I was awakened at 4:20 by a dog whining in my face and pawing at me. So I did the natural thing and woke up J to take Max outside. I can navigate to the bathroom and back to bed and go back to sleep, but the stairs and letting the dog out? No can do. That's our deal. But I still really couldn't go back to sleep, dammit.

And this Wednesday morning means I take minutes for the longest.meeting.ever. At least it feels that way. I can't even follow what one lady says - she talks in incomplete sentences and thoughts.

On the bright side, it's been in the 50s all week in the mornings, and 70s during the day.

Yesterday was my nephew's first day of kindergarten. He was so proud of himself, waiting on the bus:

I think insurance companies have gotten even worse since the healthcare bill passed.  Yay for paying more to get less.  NOT!

KD, I'm jealous of your husband's boat trip.  And your pedi.

I'm reviewing restaurants on Urbanspoon and other random nothings until my ethics training at noon.  Apparently I am my town's 3rd most recommended reviewer.  Go me!

Les, it's a shame you're not closer. We've got a great body shop. J takes all his company business there, so they're reasonable, and takes all personal business there, too because he trusts Chad. He isn't super quick, because he wants the work done right. You'd never know looking at the Miata that the insurance company was on the fence about totaling it a year ago. We even got a wedding gift, a Christmas gift, and a birth announcement from them.

I'm working on transferring my and DH's car insurance to get on the same policy, then I have to go to the DMV and get my new license and get my car inspected which I've never done before so I'm scurred!

I had an interview last night and it went pretty well but then the interviewer tells me that the position is between me and two other women; one of which has more experience but "the creativity is the same accross the board." I'm trying to decide if that means I have any sort of chance and what I could do between now and decision time to help them want to hire me!

Well, I asked. He said that he and another boss carefully reviewed my proposal and as a result, sent it to the big boss. I think this means they would be okay with a raise, but it's not up to them so it has to go to big boss for final approval. Not sure what big boss will think though, he doesn't know me that well.
