Hey Nebb/Anna/2012ers

Re: Hey Nebb/Anna/2012ers

  • IVE HEARD ABOUT THIS!!! were in a high solar flare season. I just got so excited about this link I started choking and now my husabnd is making fun of me :(
  • *points and laughs Nelson style*  Haha!  Sorry, I'm evil and will laugh too.

I heard it on the radio a few days ago.  One more check in the 2012 doomsday column.  It's getting oddly large.

[QUOTE]I wish people knew way more about these things, its not just "the end of the world", its many things that could happen for many reasons.

But it's the end of the world as we know it and i feel fine.

Can't help it, every time someone says "end of the world", that song gets stuck in my head.  it'll probably be my last thought before i die.

[QUOTE]Isn't it neat!  I just saw it this morning but there has been talk of major solar activity for .a while now.  While i agree that it's under the heading of low probability for a reason, I  think it has a far better chance of negatively impacting us than the caldera issues, global warming fueled ice age, and the meteors that it seems we are being warned about regularly.

Did you hear about the large meteor that went within a "few" (a lot, but close) miles of the space station?

Yeah!  Two of them.  They came into the moon's orbit.  I think that was like a month ago and they were like 15 meters across.

    Same one you're thinking of?

Scaaaaary!! We just dont know whats out there, biding its time for 2012.
  • As long as the world ends after 3/17/12 I'll be happy.  But seriously we'll all be long gone before the end of the world (when the sun dies!) that we shouldn't even worry about it.

Being prepared and aware of what is going on does not equal worried.

And I'm not worried.  Know why?  Because i'm prepared.  Whether it comes or not, I'm confident that I'm as ready as i can be without building a shelter and stockpiling excessive amounts of food.  It just makes good sense.  Especially out here where flooding, blizzards, and the like have cut people off from supplies in the past.

Being aware of possibilities and being prepared because youre educated and aware, doesnt mean you are worried.
  • Hmmm so what you are saying is I should wait until after 2012 to start fertility treatments in case the world explodes?

Natural disasters aside, I really do think the world is going to be quite different even 2 years from now. I always thought it was interesting studying the responses of native cultures to things like global warming or the 2012 theories. Most just say "Well, we will adapt. We can't force the world to not do things so we must adapt to the world we are in." What a strange idea ;)

  • one of the 2012 theories is a change in conciousness. So it is entirely possible that it will just be something like that, a different way of life caused by something external big or small.
  • Dad and I were talking about the world going back about 50 years in several mindsets. Just things now where people can't afford childcare so having a parent at home is more common than 5 years ago, or growing your own food (even partially). I also think we're going see a surge in the vocational trades verses the traditional 4 year college with the way things are going.
  • Threadjack:

Anna, if you're still around, I saw these and immediately thought of you:

This is my thinking. I don't think it will be the end of the world. Maybe the beginning of the end as we know it, but not the whole earth eating itself and all that other shiit.
