So I was reading this article

In the local newspaper. I only skimmed the first paragraph at first because I was getting ready to head out to lunch. After lunch, I actually went back and read the whole article. Here's the article:

"A Churubusco woman was charged with driving while intoxicated early Thursday after her pickup truck was found on its side off U.S. 33, the Noble County Sheriff’s Department said.

Jane Doe (name changed), 33, had a blood-alcohol content of 0.24 percent – three times the legal limit –and was found pinned inside the truck near the Whitley County line, the department said in a written statement.

Police got a call from a driver about 12:45 a.m. about the crash. The 1997 Ford F150 was found down an embankment in Noble County, just north of the county line.

The sheriff’s department said Doe was not injured, but showed signs of intoxication. She was also charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia."

Turns out, this person is cousin. God, I'm so lucky to be surrounded by smart people. This was also the first I've heard of it.

FI used to be a first responder, and he once told me about a drunk driving accident where a guy in a car went up a hill somehow, was launched into the air, and landed on top of a pylon for a new highway overpass, car and all. They had to bring a ladder to get him down, and when they got up there, he was still in the car, drunk as a skunk, thinking everything was fine and he was still driving along.

That is my favorite story.

I honestly wouldn't be too surprised if that was one of my cousins. I've got some nutso people in my family.

I don't know how someone can (somewhat) function with a 0.24.

One time my cousin drunkingly crashed a boat. Into a tree. Yes the tree was on land. AND he was 40 at the time.
