Snarky Brides

For the wine drinkers...

Hiya!

I know some of you are wine drinkers so I thought I'd tell you about this. And quite honestly, I think those of you who aren't really a fan of wine would actually like this.

I went to pick up a bottle of white to cook with this week and figured I'd get a red for myself. The only red wine I usually drink is shiraz because it usually has a slightly sweeter, fruity taste to it.

So I grabbed this wine called Jam Jar. It's really sweet, but not in a bad way (I promise) and it's sort of thick, almost as if you actually liquified jam or jelly (but not goopy or anything). It's also failry cheap, about $10 a bottle.

Just thought I'd share because I took a sip and it was THAT good.

ETA: Here's a site that provides a good description with actual reviews when you scroll down.  http://www.snooth.com/wine/jam-jar-sweet-shiraz-2008/

Re: For the wine drinkers...

  • Wait, so it's a thick wine? Like syrupy?  I don't know how I feel about that. But I love me some wine.

I wouldn't say syrupy, but definitely more than your average red wine would be. It's rich, like a dessert. I don't know how to explain it. It's definitely not something you want to drink a lot of (hellooo headache) but a glass to sip or with dinner is delicious.

Let me know what you think if you try it.
  • Cool! That sounds really good actually. I'm going to look out for some. I like Ice Wine (which is super duper sweet hahaha) but it's SOOOO expensive we can only drink it occasionally.

  • That sounds like it would be really good poured over vanilla ice cream.

  • Hm, I'll have to try it. I've picked up a bit of a port habit lately, but it's a pretty expensive hobby.

  • I am afraid it will remind me of blood, not that I've had blood.  (the consistency, not the flavor).

  • K-Byte - If you try it let me know what you think.

Kayla- Haha, I don't know about that. It's not quite thick enough, but then again who knows? It might be delicious.

Nates - you're too much. C'mon get into the halloween spirit and drink some blood resembling liquids for once, will ya?
  • I can't drink red wine (gives me a headache) but I'll suggest it to FMIL. I recently dicovered Moscato, it's super tasty and I can get a decent sized bottle for $10

Never too far, when skin suits are concerned.  They are out there anyway.

And stop revealing my secret plans!

Yeah if it's not thick enough it might be weird. It just made me think of this thick raspberry liquor that my aunt puts over ice cream and it's super yummy.

Speaking of champagne...H called room service to order a bottle on our wedding night.  Asked for the cheapest, girl says "How about Dom Perignon?"  He knows nothing about champange and said ok.  Hello $350 room service bill with a $75 service charge, so nice to see you.

If anyone likes sparking wine you should check out The Black Chook sparking shiraz.  I first found it at a wine store in LA.  They described it as "liquid crack".
