Heels, I don't think so - but, you may want to call the Animal Control. I called to report one before I moved out of the house in G'town (so prior to 2005) and they said they weren't picking them up or recording them anymore. I don't even remember what it was for, now.

What kind of bird? Some you should report, like eagles and some migratory birds, others I'm not sure about. You could call a local animal shelter or rehab center and they'll know.

It's just a robin.  I might call animal control just so that I don't have to do anything with it.  Otherwise it's only a matter of time before Possum gets ahold of it.  Blech.

I think we were supposed to report bird deaths when Avian flu was a big thing so they could test/track the disease spread. If it's one robin I wouldn't worry about it.

A bird flew into my livingroom window and died once, I didnt know what to do so I pushed it into an old mcD's cup with a stick and put it in the garbage. I didnt know what else to do, but it sounds like that was the wrong thing.

Here in MN (at least St Paul), they won't do anything about it unless it's on public property.  I don't think they'd care about birds, though, either.

I had this happen. I was walking to through our backyard to take out the trash and saw THREE birds on my way there. Turns out a cat was killing them.

In Chicago area we're supposed to report dead birds due to a small resurgence of West Nile Virus.  We had a pretty bad outbreak about 10 years ago maybe.
