Snarky Brides

Any Sweet Valley fans?

I had ALL of the SVT books when I was young.

My friend posted this on my FB wall today - I'm excited!

I'm headed to bed, but wanted to share the fun.  :)

  • This is full of awesome! I loved SVH!
  • Yay!  I loved SVH, too!
  • I never got into SVH. I feel like I missed out on something?
  • You did, Roxy. So sorry you missed it! ;)
  • Oh wow, I loved those books!

  • Didn't someone just post about this? Anyway, I'm not sure sure about this... I loved Sweet Valley growing up, but between all the different ages they were written out, the whole series became so inconsistant. Now they're throwing in another age level so I can only imagine what absurdity is going to come from this.

  • I have been awaiting the Diablo Cody movie for forever.  Well, maybe 1 year, but feels forever.
  • I loved SVH and I will watch/buy anything Diablo Cody creates.

If you want to get all serious about it, maybe. Its a book. Lighten up.
  • I loved SVH....I was just thinking about it the other day.
I was over at my Mom's and went to the basement looking for some old pictures and found a couple of the SVH books.  I also found Baby Sitters Club, some of the old RL Stine "scary" books for teens, and Super Fudge.  I sat down in the basement and started reading Super Fudge right then and there.  I finished it that night.  I forgot how many books that I adored growing up.

  • Memories, DMiller! When I was really young, I loved the Ramona series too and got a little excited when I saw the movie coming out. I'm not going to see it though. Because I think that would be weird.

I read Goosebumps. But they really scared me. So did Are You Afraid of the Dark.

  • I loved Ramona too!  It's so funny because I remember reading those books when I was young and it would take me about a week to read one.  I bought some (Ramona books) at a garage sale a couple of years ago, and read two in one night.  I love to go back and re-read books that I loved when I was younger.

But, I'm with you...I don't think I would see the movie.  I prefer to keep my mental images from when I was a kid.

super fudge and fudge-a-mania were two of my favorites! and ramona too.
i hope to god those books don't get lost in publishing purgatory before my hypothetical kids get to read them.

  • Ahhh. I love it.

I also remember reading some of the more risque Judy Blume books not designed for my age bracket.

My favourite favourite book when I was a kid was some book called the ghost in the mirror where this witch and a kid went back in time by driving through a tunnel in a mountain or something and had to battle some kind of deamon in a twin mirror from one she had in her house in the future. Man I loved that book.
  • When I was 12-16, SVH was awesome, I had all the books...later when the show came on, boo, wasn't the same

I also likes babysitters club, goosebumps and judy bloom !
