Work is painfully slow today and on top of that, I'm leaving for vacation tomorrow so being at work right now feels pointless and slow.

Haha, actually I started regretting my username about a week after I created my account.  But whatever. 

Vacation is Huntington Beach, CA - my mom is from there, and I have a lot of relatives there.  Ben and I went last summer and had a blast, and his folks are (very generously) sending us again.  I'm really excited to get away from work and wedding crap and not think about anything but working on my tan.

That photo is from New Year's.  Ben's family does those cheesy little pop open gift things - and that was a toy that I opened.  You put this little ball in a cup that's attached to a straw and blow into it and it shoots up.  My tacky paper crown is pretty sweet.

The flower girl didn't come :( But our other one was with and she got to try on her dress.  The look on her face when she came out of the dressing room - sigh.  I'm not really a kids person but it just melted me.  I really wish our other flower girl could have been along.  But her mom was with and the dress got ordered - so that's good.

Well that's good that her dress got ordered, even if her husband was being an a--hole and wouldn't let his DD attend. What a douche. I'm so glad I don't have to deal with my DD's father, because I would have probably punched him in the face by now for the way he acts. I hope you guys don't have to deal with him later when the wedding gets closer, god forbid if he comes back and says she can't be in it, now that the dress is ordered. :o(

I'm glad the other FG had fun trying on her dresses though. I showed Natalie (DD) my dress the other night, and she was so excited. She says that it's "our" wedding (meaning me and her) to Daddy (she calls FI her daddy) and she asked where her dress was. FMIL is making her dress, so I can't wait for her to see it, I know she's going to love it.

Thank you.  Yeah, I worry a little bit about it too.  Like, I'm afraid we'll get close to the wedding and he'll try and pull this "I didn't say she could go" crap.  His behavior is so bizarre and erratic and kinda freaks me out.  I just pray for a swift settlement and that everything gets figured out.

That is so cute, too, about your daughter :)  It was never really important to me to have kids in our wedding but now that my future neices and nephew are in it, I'm so excited for them because they are all just so happy and thrilled to get dressed up and be with us that way.  And it makes them feel really special, so it makes me feel good too.

I used to HATE my curly hair - in high school I straightened it all the time.

But now I really embrace it.  It's SO low maintenance and I always keep it long.  I only trim it like twice a year, and it doesn't even need it more than that since I don't brush it.  Just a little mousse, upside-down blow drying and literally, that's it.  I'm out the door.

I'm going to straighten it for the wedding because it's easier to style that way.  But yeah, a November wedding = no frizzies.  Just have to hope it doesn't rain :)  And even then there are ways to avoid it getting wet.

My niece called me on our 1 year anniversary and goes "Hi Auntie Kristi, Happy Anniversary! This was the day we had your big party and you looked like a princess!" I was teasing sil about it and she said she didn't prompt her at all, Z just picked up the phone and called us herself. She was 3 1/2.

She also started crying one day when they were watching the video because "It was such a fun party and I'm glad that Uncle married Kristi"
