Recommend your online invite site

Ok, according to the email I got from TK yesterday, it's about that time for me to start figuring out invites.  I plan to order them online, and I don't want to spend an arm and a leg.  I know about Etsy, Wedding Paper Divas, and Vistaprint, obviously.  Anyone use any other site and get awesome invites and a good deal?  Or conversely, get ripped off and get crappy invites?

Re: Recommend your online invite site

  • Well, I'm planning on doing DIY, so I'm getting everything from www.cardsandpockets.com.
  • Oh, I guess I should add I'm not a huge DIYer.  I don't mind a LITTLE bit of assembling, etc, but cutting and folding and putting together, etc, is just not me.  We'd end up calling people to invite them ;)

  • You can try this one:

    http://www.minted.com/

Some of their stuff is a little more pricey but they look awesome. It might be worth looking through.

Sorry, I suck. I'll be designing my own so I haven't looked into it too much. I just love a lot of the designs there.

They'll print and assemble everything, but I don't know how cost effective that would be compared to pre-made ones.

Oooh, I like the designs on there too. I might rip some of them off for mine, lol.

Well I can definitely look!  I want to see all my options.  And take 4 months to decide :)

  • I bought mine at Joanne Fabrics and printed and stuffed them myself so I'm not much help, but I've heard good things about weddingpaperdivas.com

And betrothed, I'm disgusted with most of the comments that you have posted. I don't think I've ever read such judgmental comments in my life. I'm so lucky that the girls I speak to on theknot are nothing like you...I would've never come on here for ADVICE if I would've encountered a big a bitch as you. I genuinely feel awful for your children or your future children, and I think it would be irresponsible of YOU not to invest in their future therapy sessions starting now. Because trust me when I tell you honey, they're gonna need it. ~jcaruncho2010

  • I think part of my problem is that I don't have the first idea of what I actually NEED.  Perhaps doing this online isn't my best plan, but I'm sure not paying the prices of having a local business or an invite business do them.  Hmpf.

  • Info for the etsy seller who did ours is in my bio.  I highly recommend her.  I couldn't have made them myself for what she charged, just the materials alone would have cost more.  And they were awesome, beautifuly printed on great paper, we got tons of compliments.

The Green Kangaroo is a local (to here) store that has a good website, some of their stuff is a litle more pricy but they have nice design sets.
  • You could always go somewhere local and speak with someone so they can help you.  You will need the invitation and RSVP card and maybe another card with other information like accomodations or if your ceremony and reception are in different locations a reception card would probably be needed.
  • 123print.com  I had a great experience with them.  I signed up for their emails and waited to order until I got a free shipping and 10 or 15% off coupon (don't remember which it was but they often have sales).  I got 75 invites and rsvps (with 80 plain white envelopes for each) plus 100 business cards which I put our webiste link on, all for under $56.  I also had upgraded to the 100% linen paper, so it was a really great deal.  They shipped quickly and the website was easy to use.

  • magnetstreet.com is great too.  They are very affordable and I love the design studio the site has because you can change the colors to exactly what you want.
  • I also found this site a while back and they have a bunch of free downloadable templates that might tickle your fancy.   : )

I had a VERY questionable experience with wedding paper divas and wouldn't really recommend that site. Our black and white photos were "lightened" to the point I looked white... I am arabic and very naturally tanned. When I called... they said nothing was wrong with the photo files sent and it was a "design choice". I have NEVER pulled the race card so I carefully explained the concern that I was suddenly the same color as my H in the photo and they freaked out... refunded like 95% of it... reprinted immediately... sent us lots of discounts and crap. It was all really weird and really upsetting.

edit: I admit it may have been all innocent.. I prefer to think it was... oh and these were for save the dates... they have really nice stuff so we had hoped to use them for invites. we didnt.

  • My issue with wedding paper divas is that Itheir invites are not as customizable as other websites.

WTF?! That's a terrible designer IMO. That's not the type of liberty a designer should take.

Yeah, that's pretty effed up.  I'd be pretty upset.

  • try evenstarpaperie.com. Tessa makes  custom invites and is reasonable. Mine came out awesome.
  • I contemplated DIY, but in the end decided it was just too much work and am ordering mine from an Etsy seller (LetterBoxInk).

Her full portfolio is on her professional website:  http://www.lauranehls.com

  • I used www.parekhcards.com, mostly for the Indian print designs, which I could be creative and do DIY on :)  They came out wonderful, and we went back to the same vendor with our wedding programs since they were in another few languages!

  • I second 123print.com

I loved my invites, they were very reasonable, and did not require extra postage.
    Wedding Countdown Ticker
  • I used mygatsby.com and they were really, really amazing, but not the cheapest out there.
