Snarky Brides

For the moms (and future moms)

Since we are bored, and I am procrastinating getting ready for work here is some food for thought.

I am watching Dog Whisperer.  He is dealing with a dog who has issues with kids.  Part of the rehabilitation is the dog going to Caesars home.  There are mothers with babies and small children participating.  The dog is leashed and in Caesars control, but my question is, would you be ok sitting on the floor with your infant with a dog who has issues like this?

I dont have kids yet, but I am not sure I would be ok with this.  But then again, Caesar is the best at what he does......

Re: For the moms (and future moms)

  • I do love Caesar and trust his opinion,  but no.  Not with my kid.
  • I'm jealous of Tide now for many reasons.  She's having twins (I want), has a stunning daughter and she's met Victoria Stilwell.  <sigh>
  • I don't think I would be comfortable with it either. DS also loves dogs, and tends to be overly friendly towards animals. A dog that has issues with kids probably wouldn't take that very well, on a leash or not.

[QUOTE]Definitely not. Of course I'd be more concerned if it were a Doberman as opposed to say, a Yorkie but I will wouldn't do it regardless.

    Racist!

That's what my Dobie told me to say.  I do what she tells me or she'll kill me.

Just make her look like a beagle and everyone will assume she's friendly, even if she's really a ferocious guard dog beasty!

I want a Doberman but FI says no.  Not cause he doesn't like them but we have so many breeds we want.  I think I'd like one of each breed.
  • I agree with PPs.  I have been bitten on my entire face (one good chomp when I was 2) and pretty badly on my arm when I was around 9.  I still love dogs, but the slightest hint of fear definitely does something to them.  I wouldn't do it.

  • HELL no. I don't trust any human or dog that much.
  • Today was a lab that bit me, bruised me and scratched the crap out of my arms.  Meanwhile the two pits in the room took a nap.  So much for all the stereotypes about pits.

  • I'm sorry Aprove.  That makes for a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day.
Holy Crap. We survived the first year!

It was worth it cause my dog, Kaylee, was safe in the air.  As long as she didn't get hurt I'm okay.  I'm grumpy though.  I'm sure Kaylee's squealing (she hurt her paw pad) instigated the reaction but I was not expecting that response!

I did have a good day on the wedding front.  I finalized my purchase for my wedding corset.  Very excited for that.
  • I'd totally not be comfortable with that.  Most dog/kid bites occur in the facial area, and there's a really large chance of infection, not even to mention the scarring.  Not worth the risk.
