Rehearsal Dinner Woes

I am having the hardest time finding a place to hold our rehearsal dinner!  We need a place that can accomodate 50-60 people.  Obviously nothing outragous since FI and I are paying for it.

I called one place that has a private room.. but yet you cant rent it out.  Then what is the point of a private room?????

I am going up to Houston next weekend and wanted some places to go to to check out but from the looks of things that won't happen...

Grrr... I know I have 3 months but I dont want to procrastinate.. I want to get it done lol

What kind of food are you looking for in Houston? I used to live there and I am a whiz with YELP and Google.

BBQ would be ideal cause everyone likes it. Honestly a place that has options. No italian FI is allergic to it.

All of these do catering. The one that I made a note nhext to advertises that they have banquets rooms. You'll have to call the others to see if they do

Yelp.com is a place where people post online reviews.  I use it for everything!  I mostly use it for restaurants because I hate spending money on bad food, but I've yelped bridal vendors as well because I also loathe terrible customer service when I'm shelling out big bucks.  Definitely check yelp.com out for local restaurant reviews- there may even be some posted by people who have done private parties/large reservations, which should give you some idea of how well they handle that sort of thing.

Could you just hold it at your home/family member's home and have it catered? That way you could bring in your own alcohol and you will don't have to stress about the venue. Not sure about your housing situation thought if you could accommodate that many people.

Well we are getting married 3 hrs from where we live.. we have friends that live there but they don't have room for something like that.
