Snarky Brides

Good morning!

How are you all doing today?  I'm really excited for the short week.  We went to bed at 1 this morning, so I'm exhausted, but I keep reminding myself the week is almost over :-D

How were your weekends?  Mine was relaxing.  I didn't do much of anything and I liked it that way.

Re: Good morning!

  • Hey! Well I think I'm about over being sick. And last night I went to see the Harry Potter movie. Thats about it.

Glad you had a relaxing weekend!

  • I think its lame as shiit that americans get TWO days off for thanksgiving since yours is on thursday, and Canadians get ONE day off because its on stupid monday here. *grumbles*

I am tired and hoping today is busy enough, though im not confident. The sales guy who gives me work is heading to pittsburg for TG (his wife is from there) so I doubt this week will be very productive because I wont have much to do on that account.

Weekend was weekend, mine follow the same path every weekend so theres not much to say on that. I drank, I ate, I slept, I watched movies, I watched tv and here we are!
  • Did you enjoy it, SC?  I'm debating whether I should go see it or just wait for DVD.

My Lysol trigger fingers are grateful you're feeling better.

  • Morning. This is my only workday this week, so I'm pretty happy about that.

The weekend was pretty good. We went to a TG party Saturday evening at H's friend's house, and it was pretty boring for me because I didn't know anyone there. But the food was great. Then we went to my friend's parents' house to watch the UFC fights. That was fun, but we didn't get home until close to 2AM so my Sunday was spent being super lazy.
  • My weekend was alright. HP was good, I like that they split it up. It didn't feel nearly as rushed as the others. Downside was, I spent my night trying to sleep on a couch in a friend's living room, while a bunch of musicians from the 60s got stoned and played music very loudly. So I got a whole 3 hours of sleep. And then I napped yesterday, so I couldn't get to sleep until 4, to be up at 6:30. Basically, I'm damn tired.

On the plus side, I'll have Friday off. On the downside, it's for my throat thing. Blegh.
  • Morning! I agree that having a short week is helping me get my day started. I couldn't sleep until almost 3am, so I am so tired but I just need to mainline my coffee and I'll be alright soon enough. This work week is going to be strange anyway, because our office is closed on two of the days I usually work, so I'm packing all of my clients into today and tomorrow. I think I need more coffee. ;)

Oh, and my weekend was boring. I cleaned and got a bunch of pre-planning and budgeting done for Christmas shopping this year.

Good morning! I am up earlier than usual because I had a dream that I was visiting a former bronze foundry for my dissertation, and the guy was showing me around his old farmhouse and I was complimenting him on the built-in bookcases.... and then I woke up and figured it would be better to work than to dream about working.

Also, Jelly Bean thinks it is really adorable and loving to curl up on my bare arm and knead it while sleeping. She is mistaken.

Anyway, the weekend was kind of a wash, but FI comes home today, and I'm crossing my fingers that I'm about to get a text in a few minutes that he's managed to catch an earlier flight. Here's hoping!

  • Horray for relaxing weekends and feeling better.

I am blessed to have this whole week off.

The weekend, however... Glad it is over! The Vikings lost big, an ice storm kept us inside for most of Sunday, our second car needs 1200.00 in repairs and not having a second car is not realistic for us. Oh, and to top it off my H and I had the most horrific argument of our entire time together yesterday. I mean, as in we can never argue like THAT again bad. We made up, but truth be told I am still pissed and trying to get over it.

I have a physical Tuesday and I HATE the Dr. Really hate it.

Okay, whine over. in better news we are getting a new fridge/freezer delivered today. With the basement freezer I will finally have enough room for some of the things I eat in the rather than just his "stocking up" supplies, which will be nice. Also fridge was developing ominous warm-and-frozen spots, which usually happens right before the motor dies. Looking forward to Thanksgiving.

Good morning.  Today and tomorrow are going to be so incredibly boring at work. Thankfully, I'm taking a half day tomorrow so it won't be too bad.

H and I went and saw HP Friday night.  I still haven't formed my opinion of it.  H, who has never read the books, kept asking me why and how questions and I realized I knew the answers because I had read the books and the movie didn't explain the stuff he wanted to know.  H is now reading the last book to get his answers lol.

Yesterday we picked up our wedding china from my Grandmother (she gifted us her wedding china) and reorganized the dining area with a temporary spot. We also rearranged the house to make room for the Christmas tree next weekend!  Woot woot!!

Hope you all have a great day!

  • Random aside: There's nothing I love more in the morning than everything bagels with butter.
  • See Shay, that's what I was worried about- that since they split the book into 2 movies they wouldn't be able to fully explain everything and I don't want to have to wait to understand it until the second part comes out, but I don't see a point in reading the final book if I haven't read the rest of them.

    I'll probably end up waiting.

  • Yeah I definitely get waiting.  I had no real problem following because I had originally read the book.  I tried to get H to read all of them but he said he just wanted to read the last one.  He's only about 100 pages in and already can't believe the details that he either missed in the movie or were left out. • Hey everyone!  Today is my Friday, so I'm off Tues, Wed, and Thurs.  I'm back to work on FRI, though.  And, it turns out that I can't go black friday shopping, because my supervisor screwed up my overtime - it wasn't approved in time, so it didn't make it onto this paycheck.  Grrr.

  • Good Morning!

This weekend was kind of a bust, we didn't do much. We did go see "Due Date" yesterday, and it was surprisingly funny. Plus, Robert Downey Jr. is easy on the eyes and he cracks me up.

I woke FI up last night because he was snoring and it kept waking me up. I was like "Baby, roll over, you're snoring" and he grunted and said "No, I'm not" and continued to saw logs the rest of the night. Grrr....

Despite being sleep deprived, I did manage to get in a good workout this morning, so that was nice, even though it was cut short by a fire alarm.

I only work three days this week, woohoo! They are charging me a vacation day for Friday, but I don't care, it's worth it not to have to come in to work the day after Thanksgiving.

My weekend was fun. I went to a wine tour with few of my girlfriends in upstate  NY. There were 11 wineries on the tour and we managed to make 8. Tasted some great wines, and came home with about 8 bottles!

  • Morning! Thank goodness for short weeks. It's only 8:01 and I already want to strangle my coworkers.

It's still nasty outside here, too.  All icy and dreary and gross.  I had a really hard time getting out of bed this morning. I think I might ask to leave at noon today after our meeting.
  • Good Morning!
My weekend was great but not long enough.  We got the UFC fights on Saturday and all but one fight turned out the way I had hoped.  Yesterday, we met with our minister about some wedding stuff and it's starting to feel like we're running out of time.  I feel like we have so many things left to do.

I'm so happy that this is a short week, I was only planning to work today and tomorrow but my boss had a death in the family over the weekend.  I might work part of Weds to make sure we are ready for month end. It's still a short week :)  I'm getting so excited to start cooking and getting everything together for Thanksgiving.

Hey! Sorry for that P&R earlier. I was sitting there typing an answer when I realized "Oh sh!t, class started two minutes ago!"

Yeah I would wait if you haven't read the book but its like Shay said - there's some stuff that you may not understand because they don't fully explain it. However if you've never read the book, you may not notice the missing info.

  • morning everyone and congrats to the new wives! :)

I also saw HP this weekend and personally, I LOVED it. I LOVE that they aren't wasting time with explanations like they did in the past movies. I always felt like the past movies spent time trying to recreate the world for first timers. This movie just MOVED. It never dragged really. I think that yes- you HAVE to read the books. But really... I think thats fine. I thought the movie was amazing- the best yet. It was well paced, well shot and the acting was good. It was a VERY sad and emotional movie and I can't wait for the next!

Other than that my weekend was homework mania :)

I definitely agree with you there!  I don't think it was bad by any means and I've heard a lot of people say it is the best one yet.  I guess I just followed along well because I read it so even if stuff was left out I didn't notice because of that, but was with H who spent a lot of the time confused, which is skewing my opinion lol.
