Snarky Brides

WWYD

If you had some sexy lingerie from your bridal shower that you wanted to wear for your H but when mentioned, he seems less than enthusiastic? Wear it anyways and hope he likes it or save face and keep it tucked away?

Re: WWYD

  • I bet if you put it on and prance in front of him, he won't turn his nose up.

  • You're really asking us if you should or shouldn't wear lingerie for your FI?  Sigh.  If you want to wear it, wear it.  I'm sure he'll enjoy it.  He's a guy.

  • Wear it anyway.  Unless his mom bought it for you and that has him skeeved out.
  • I'd wear it. He might get "enthusiastic" when he sees you in it. Maybe?

If he just seemed a little distracted at the time, I would wear it anyways. If he had a look of disgust and disbelief on his face, I'd probably be too busy packing to get naked.

And you know, all that stuff in between. I know my FI likes it, so I'd probably just assume he had something else on his mind when I had brought it up.
  • Men don't get as excited about things like we do.

True! Okay, maybe I will just stop looking for his game face and surprise him. Maybe.

  • Surprise him, but the clothes won't stay on long. That is why I never buy pretty stuff. It's a waste of money.

Haha, no it wasn't like that. He just responded with "Haha, okay." and then quickly changed the subject to what movies we should rent from Blockbuster. Mmm yep.

  • He just didn't want you to know how excited he really was.  It was his poker face for sure.
  • I'd wear it anyway.  I highly doubt he'd object that strongly.

It is true that pit bulls grab and hold on. But what they most
often grab and refuse to let go of is your heart

  • He might not have been excited because normally you don't talk about lingerie....you just put it on and flash it.  Maybe the moment was ruined for him?

  • For FI, the clothes are about creating memories. Its not so much about right now OMG it looks so hot as it is he remembers that time I wore X. Plus, sometimes it helps me get in the mood when Im otherwise uninterested, and he appreciates that too.

So just put it on. Unless it absolutely turns him off, then you have a winner.

  • Mine too. I usually just skip the 15 step instructions I have to follow to get the damn things on, throw them the floor and jump J.

In our house, FI doesn't think too much about that sort of thing, but sometimes I wear them because they make me feel sexier, and that benefits him. But I find that in general, sensual niceties are my department. I keep having to tell him that walking into a room naked =/= seduction.

Haha, it's sad how closely this resembles my situation.

  • I hear you, Sarah. "Ok, get naked" is not the most romantic segway.. you know?

  • If that's sad Any, then I'm right beside you. J and I are definitely the "Hey, wanna fuuck" type and not the light the candles, dim the lights and put the Keith Sweat on low type.

<div>Sometimes, if I'm feeling sassy, I'll whisper in his ear really slowly "I want...to DO you..."</div>
  • Ha! Thanks for the advice everyone. And no, Any, that is not sad at all...thats on our same level of romance which is probably why I literally planned the date/time this dressing up would occur...

    imageWedding Countdown Ticker
  • Haha! J wouldn't let me get close enough to him to whisper in his ear. We're always pulling some type of prank on each other so there's always a guard up. But I will send him crazy text messages during the day while he's at work so he'll be thinking about it all day.

  • My DH is the same way. If I mention something in concept to him, he's like "Ok, whatever," but when I put it on.... Yeah :)
