One of my "friends" on FB just posted this as her status:

"HEY EVERYONE, if you know us well enough to be invited to our wedding, send me your address, so I can send out invites."

Ohh jeez. I'm trying so hard not to be a biitch, and write on her status..

I know, right? I kind of hope EVERYONE on her friends lists sends addresses.

I'm going to message her when I get home. Any advice on how to handle it tactfully, cuz all that's in my head is: Are you stupid??

Oh geez. I have someone on my friend list who is asking for addresses through status updates also. I don't get it..thats almost like telling someone they are invited, then not inviting them (if everyone on fb sent their addresses, obviously they wouldn't ALL be invited)

A girl from my hometown created a FB event telling everyone on her list when the wedding was, and for them to accept the event and post their addresses so she could send them an invitation. I saw this because it was one of my friend's events. I hope her mom is ok with paying for the whole town to be there.

lol, I can't wait to see the outcome of this one. What if someone she is really close to misses that particular status update so they don't send her their address... does that mean they won't get an invitation?

I sent her a message, and she just changed her status to "Only people I actually know and talk too and my family please".. Apparently, she didn't understand the message I sent.

and I think: Cool, insult my size 16-18 body, my natural brown hair with the grey strays, and the fact that my parents busted their butts their entire lives and would never join a country club. At least it's better than being arrogant and self important.

As to the situation mentioned by the OP, let it be. If she is posting that as an FB status she is not going to understand anything you have to say.

I messaged her, just as a heads up, and then she posted the second status. So, I let it go. I told her I didn't want she and her FI to go through any unnecessary stress, but maybe she likes it? I don't know.

I have seen this a lot with friends from Idaho/Utah.  One friend ended up with a guest list of about 400.  Then again, a lot of (Mormon) weddings here are just cake and punch receptions, and only close family/friends are invited to the temple ceremony.  They're more like "open house" receptions where guests pop in for a bit then leave.

I find it incredibly annoying.

I went to a wedding in Salt Lake years ago when a friend converted and married a Mormon. There were maybe 40 at the temple and I swear 400 people at the reception. They did feed everyone, though. I was amazed.
