Question(s)!

After some searching, we've narrowed it down to The Tribute Golf Club, Elmwood Gardens, and Chandler's Landing.  Has anyone had a wedding at any of these places?  Our front runner right now is Elmwood Gardens because we can bring in our own food and alcohol, and it's so gorgeous! In addition to that, has anyone done their own alcohol for their wedding?  Did you find it to be a lot cheaper than whatever venue you were using?  We figured we'd do places like CostCo for wine and champagne, then liquor stores for our signature drink (whatever it might be).  My fiance's aunt has generously offered to do the catering for our wedding, so that's a huge puzzle piece in place already!Thank you ladies so much for all of your help, I'm already getting so excited for our wedding!

Can't help with the first question. We will be doing our own alcohol and we are getting wine and a keg from Wine^2 (Wine Squared) in Denton.  Brooke is really cool and gives a wedding discount rather than jacking it up.  She's been really helpful and there's great variety.

We did our own alcohol and bought wine from Costco and beer from Costco and a liquor store (we wanted variety for beer). I have heard that whatever remains unopened you can return to Costco, so that's nice in terms of making sure you have enough but don't have to pay for any excess.

I heard Chandler's Landing was closing, but that might not be true. We brought in our alcohol. I bought the beer, wine, and champagne from Lone Star Beverages in Carollton. I thought their prices were pretty reasonable. I bought the liquor through a friend that owns a bar.

I looked at Chandler's Landing for my venue and found they wanted just as much as the Adolphus hotel and the Belo Mansion (two options that I thought were much nicer).... IMO Chandler's Landing is very over priced...

Went to visit Chandler's Landing. The pictures are nicer than the actual venue, it smelled like "lake" (which is fine if you're vacationing in a cabin, but not for a wedding reception), and although they are not closing, they did file for bankruptcy. I would recommend going to one of your other choices.

My grandmother got remarried at Chandlers Landing, and what I remember of it was nice.... though it's too far away for me to have looked at it for my own, so I don't have much to offer besides very vague memories.

Chandler's Landing is currently in bankruptcy proceedings.  My friends were supposed to get married there in two weeks and they are now SOL.  Lost their entire deposit and any money they had paid them.  Don't book with them!  It's not worth you reliving my friend's worst case scenario.
