Snarky Brides

confessions?

Sometimes I get random pains in my left chest (from my lower rib cage up to my breast), and it scares me. It hurts worse when I breathe deeply, so I dont know if its my lung or my heart but im too scared/lazy to go to the doctor about it.

You?

  • H is in the other room doing work until midnight, and I am excited to have the couch to myself and control of the TiVo so I can watch my old movies and not Mythbusters.

  • H thought about going out with the guys tonight to watch UFC, but decided he was too tired.  I wish he had gone out... I need some 'me' time.  oh well. I'll stay on here, while he plays Wii instead.

I've made the same thing for dinner 4 nights this week.

This is me. Mine is breakfast for dinner. I hate touching raw meat, so the only protein that I am comfortable making is eggs. It makes me feel like a sucky mom, but I do try to make different kinds of eggs if that helps. :)

Believing in God is....hard sometimes. I don't know if it's harder to convince myself, or deal with the possibility that I may be wrong.
I have a fairly crippling fear of death, which has resurfaced after some recent events.

  • I confess I'll throw a royal fit if we don't do Christmas right.
  • I think for it to be a confession you have to actually confess something specific, instead of vague secrets and religious crises.

    So spill it! :)

I do too. Im very frightened of death, of myself and my loved ones. I dont like the unknown. I grapple with it a lot too - I believe, but I dont know HOW much, and I dont "practice".

I practice because it's comfortable and makes me feel safe. But lately I'm thinking that there's not a whole lot of "faith" in the explanation I just gave.

  • Breakfast for dinner is my favorite. Tonight it appears we're having air for dinner Undecided.
OH, and rolls. Once they're finnaly done (I accidently let them rise an extra time).
  • I got irrationally angry with Ben today at the football game. I took him to the bathroom and decided to pee while he was washing his hands. He finished washing his hands and then I saw him walk to the stall next to me and then get on his hands and knees. I still shudder when I think about it. You all know how I am about public restrooms and the thought of his hands on the floor of one makes me die. I freaked out. People looked at me like I was crazy. I was crazy.
  • Jas, I am not particularly religious, but my thoughts are that even if there turns out there is no God, it can't hurt to live your life believing that there is, because generally you will live a better life. So if there is no God, at least you were a good person while you were here.

Thats tough, I think in a situation like that you just need to listen to your heart - what is best for you. What makes you happy. The way I see it "god" likes to give us situations to learn from, so thats what that is. Whether god is really there or not, I dont know, but I like to believe that everything is tough because im supposed to learn something from it.
  • I wish I were that rational alli.
But see if there's not a God, then I just don't want to die.
Then I have to find a way to live forever, which I will fail at. Because there's probably a lot of math involved, and I'm terrible at math.

Aww, back at you Katie. :) *hug*

  • There is a whole subsection of philosophy that deals with the existence of God. You may want to look into it to see if it gives you some piece of mind. I learned about it in school, but I am useless because I can't think of a name or a book to support it.

  • A friend of mine from college died last month. I haven't really talked about it to anyone because there's just not much to talk about. I have thought about her every day since just before she died and I cry each time I think of her.

  • Jas, you will never live  forever unless you are a zombie slayer.

You might not want to talk to a black hearted old atheist about this, but this was kinda how I felt before I realized that I didn't believe in God. I still love the Catholic Church - the art, the history, the music, the pomp and circumstance, the minutiae of canon law - but I just don't believe in God, so that complicates things.

I continued to go to an Episcopal church for about five years after I stopped believing, partly because I was a paid member of a choir, but partly also because I liked going. And now I miss having somewhere to go and sing hymns every week. :)
