Snarky Brides

Guys are dumb. Seriously.

I thought this whole "Leslie" thing was over, but apparently FI continued his "non-thinking" strategies.

He told her today that I got upset the other night. First of all, that's our business, between him and I. I mean, sure, I told you guys, but FI doesn't have to see you guys IRL. Anyway, she's worried that I don't like her now and wants to take us to dinner tonight. I appreciate the gesture, but I feel really awkward about it.

I just.don't.get it.

/rant.

P.S. sorry to keep briging this up.

  • Dammit, I still didn't fix it! Oh well, that's as best as your getting from me Tongue out

  • I don't know if you guys are in the same boat, but I try to explain it to FI - it's not that I don't trust him, I don't trust the ladies he hangs out with.  I've seen crazy girls.  When a girl wants something, she goes for it.  Anyone else feel the same?

Sorry you're going through this.  And sorry he said that too her!  Do they just not understand what they should and shouldn't say?   I have to explicitly tell FI when not to share something with his parents because they tend to make it their business.
  • Yeah, I'd be pissed off about that too. Some things you don't tell other people about your relationship. And why is he confiding in her anyway? How good of a friend is she? Going to dinner would just be awkward because everyone knows she offered due to you being upset. It's a weird situation.
  • I would love a drink. If I didn't have Emerson, I would be having a few before dinner for sure.

I'm glad you guys are with me on this. He can't seem to get it. I swear I'm not crazy. At least not on this.

  • I'm sorry, I somehow missed the backstory here. But I'm sorry he is being a butthead.

Wouldn't it be nice to live together in the kind of world where we belong?
  • A lot of times guys really don't see the complexity of things. They're pretty simple creatures. With simple minds.

No. It's nothing like that. She's a very nice person. I like her and really was not mad at her at all. I was mad at FI. Basically he said he was heading home, waited 45 minutes to tell me he was going out with her instead to play pool. He didn't invite me. We're low on funds, so we never get to go out, so I was particuarly jealous that he got to go out and have fun without me.

And now he told her I was upset and she thinks I was upset at her.

  • Why on earth did he tell her what you said? I would feel awkward too. Especially when (at least we know) that you did say you liked her, just not that particular situation. I hope she isn't formulating false ideas about you because of your feelings either.

  • For the record I don't think either of you do. You don't tell people our business especially not woman, and even more especially not MIL.

  • Sorry Led this whole thing sucks. But believe me I know how you feel.

  • Thanks kd. I appreciate it.

Kayla, I don't even want to think about him telling his mom things about us. I'm pretty sure she already thinks I'm a bit of a weird one.

  • I feel like no matter how nice MIL's are they are always going to be judgemental. I know I like to stay off of my MIL's radar. I like her but I keep my mouth shut a lot.

  • Ugh, Led Zepp.  THis is exactly something N would do.  They are so dumb--they think they're helping the situation, but they make it worse. I know exactly how you feel.

You know where to find me if you need continued ranting. :)
  • Thanks np! I'll let ya know how I feel after the stupid dinner. I'm supposed to leave in 30 minutes. I really, really don't want to go. Think I should fake sick? dead car battery? can't find my keys?

  • Just go LedZ =)  Be the bigger hearted person =)

I agree that men just need a monkey thought translator (Like in the Movie - Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs),
