dilema

My work has officially gotten twitter accounts (for the company I work for, and the parent company). Im being encouraged to follow - its known I have twitter, and people at work im friends with on FB see my tweets, but no one else at work has found me on twitter or knows how to find me. If I follow from my personal twitter account, everything I say on there will now be able to be seen by the bosses, including what I tweet and how often I do it. Im really not sure what I should do.

On one hand, I want to support the company and ive even said it needs to be on twitter, but on the other hand, I say a lot of dumbshit that I dont necessarily want my boss to see.

Thoughts, and answer my poll, please.

I went with create a new, work only Twitter account.

DO NOT follow. No really, don't. Just stalk their page every two days to see their tweets, they don't need to know everything about you and your husband.

Very few of your tweets I would want my boss to see, that's what makes them so funny. No censoring my Nebb tweets!

To me, a whole new account would be annoying, BUT re-tweeting or replying to work stuff would maybe get you points?

Hahahaha yeah im sure my boss wouldnt like some of the things I tweet...

like this "Theres some kinda bug bite on my buttcheek. My paranoia has convinced me a spider laid eggs in there. I'll die if spiders come outta my ass." or this "I just found a half eaten pickle in the jar. I have to wonder if I did that when I was drunk and forgot about it??"

I dont think that would go over well.

Wait, if I like something on fb, does that make it so they can see my fb profile or is it still private?!

New account.  I totally understand not wanting your work people to be all up in your Tweets, but a lot of times when a company is "encouraging" their employees to do something, what they really mean is "we can't make you legally do it, but we'll figure you aren't a team player and make your work life more difficult accordingly if you don't."

I think its an actual page, where they blow up the status feed every 5 seconds.

They also gave all of our phone numbers to the marketing girl.  I was getting texts all week long for events and finally called the girl and flipped out.

I work there biatch, i dont need a text everyday telling me what is happening that weekend.

NEW ACCOUNT.  Work life will suck if you don't do it, but it will also suck if you follow from your personal account.

Yeah, its pages -- were supposed to like the FB group, and follow on twitter. I just cant figure out if liking a page = full profile access as if were friends. I just quickly unliked the pages until I can figure it out.

<div>Nope. I manage our work's fb page, and I cannot see anything on other people's profiles. (At least not that I've noticed yet!)</div><div>

Nebb got me into Twitter, I found my work and all the athletes at my work and thought, 'shiit, I should've been following this a long time ago, this is actually pertinent to my frickin' job."

Really though, I should've been following my company, like, a year ago. Whoops.

Don't hide who you are just because you're following your office on twitter. I definitely went with get a separate account. [:

Personally, I'd avoid associating a personal Twitter account with anything work related. I'm a firm believer in keeping your professional life and your personal life separate.

My boss wanted us all to get Twitter accounts and tweet (and also open blogs) about what it's like to be a Microsoft ERP implementation specialist. I have never opened a twitter account because I don't want one, so I flat out refused to get one for work.

    I voted seperate account.

I finally had to cave and let others in on the fact I have a FB account. I only had knotties on mine. But I am now the admin for our website,fb, and twiiter. So I kind of have to do this. But to force you seems utterly ridiculous.
