I just opened the link and saw the title. Wow. I could not image dealing with anything like that. I haven't read anything but the title.

Wow. I'm starting it right now. I can't even imagine.

I am reading from beginning to end. I don't know what I feel about that impact statement. It is easy for me to say what I think I would feel, do or say in that situation but I hope I never have to find out.

I am on The Future entry.

I hope that it's a little informative and not all depressing. One might even say inspiring?  :)

You are a strong women Erin. I hope you truly know that and that Miss A and Baby Boy O grow up knowing what a strong mother they have.

Good for you Erin for sharing your story with others.  I actually completed a course with the Darkness to Light program.  Sexual abuse education is so important, thank you for doing your part in it.

Thank goodness your daughter had the courage to tell what happened to her. And bravo to you for taking her seriously.

This is kind of awkward, but I want to be friends with Erin.  I'm not sure I could ever cope with something like that without cutting off a d.ck.  Yet she still manages to throw in a comment about how awesome ninjas are. :)

I'm a Steward for D2L during my free time, so I help conduct the training you are talking about. It's a great program.

Sorry WM, I didn't mean it like that. You are very inspiring and how a real mom should be. You and your daughter are so strong. I am definitely rooting for you! I just meant that the situation was depressing. If you can't trust your own father, who can you trust? Thank goodness your daughter has a VERY good mom to help her through this. Some women/men deny/ignore esxual abuse when it's within the family. I like that you made this blog so that other people can be aware of abuse. Kepp doing what you do!

a lurker here, but I've been reading your blog this morning.  one of my ex-piano students was sexually abused in a similar manner, but also including child p0rn0graphy, by her grandfather.  she and her cousins had to endure all the court proceedings, etc.  he ended up in jail, but it has taken her a few years to get back to "normal".  she was a little older (grade school, I'm thinking age 9?)...  she's 12 and a half now; I work with her mom in kids classes at our church, and she (the daughter) is in one of my classes on Wednesday nights.  I know it really tore their family apart but they've made it through.  she acts like a typical 12 year old girl now, and doesn't seem to have many issues with adult men.

your blog provides a totally different POV for the situation, and I am really appreciative of it.  I'm so sorry for everything your family has been through.  you are one heck of a mom.  :)

I'm sorry to hear that your student had to endure the abuse, but so glad that she seems to be doing well. I'm fearful of the teenage years and how Miss A will handle everything she's been through, so I love to hear success stories. Thanks for sharing!
