bdette - call the 3 credit score companies and tell them your FI's SS number has been stolen...TransUnion, Equifax, aanndd crap what's the third? Also call the SS office and see what they suggest besides calling the 3 credit reporting companies.GL! This will be a PITA if they try to steal his identity :(

Do you think I can call for him? Where he works, he's not able to get on the phone.

Doesn't hurt to try...you can try to explain why he can't call. You can try to say your are his FI or wife and see if that gets you farther. I think they can at least give you options on what to do and how to proceed so that he can try to make time to get it taken care of. it's very important you alert them as soon as you can though. If they incur any charges against you, you are more likely to not have to pay for them if you alert them your identity may have been stolen.

Apple, Call your bank to see if you can get the statement from last October.  They'll probably charge you a fee but they should be able to get another copy of it.

His boss let him go call the SS offices and he called those credit companies. So they know now that someone out there could be trying to use his SS#. He's over there about to have a heart attack now though because he's worried if someone gets a CC in his name, we'll have to pay it back. I'm pretty darn sure we don't have to. Can anyone tell me which is true?

Yeah I have done that before but I'm pretty sure I won't get it in time to look at it. I'm also positive I waited til the last minute to do it and my accident happened in September and they give you like 3 months to do it I think so I am *fairly* certain I wouldn't have paid for it in October. But I also should have an email from registering(or at least paying for it because I copy and paste all my confirmations and email them to myself) and I don't. It just sucks.

I believe notifying the credit bureau's will freeze any new accounts from being opened.   I don't know what period of time that is for though...

When you notify the credit report agencies they can put a FACT ACT alert on your credit. This will put a consumer statement on your bureau report so lenders or anyone who issues credit will see a statement that usually reads "Before issuing any credit please contact your name at your  phone number." The lenders/underwriter are supposed to call you to verify that it is you applying for credit before approving a request.

My identity was stolen a couple of years ago. I alerted the credit bureaus in writing.  It does not prevent new accounts from being opened, it simply puts a fraud alert on your account that potential creditors can see.  Creditors can still issue credit, unfortunately.  And the alert is only good for a year I think.  I pulled my credit reports every six months for a year.  I also filed some government fraud thing--I can't remember what it was but I can look tonight when I get home and can email you the info. if you need it.

Another COW here!  I ate like crap all weekend....I have to "look my best" in 12 days!!!  What is wrong with me???I have so much to do in the next 12 days....moving is the biggest thing....I am scared we won't get it all done ;(

Stephanie is right not all companies call the customer even if there is a FACT ACT alert. If I were you I would look into a identity monitor program, several banks offer them for a low monthly fee. Here is a link to one offered at the bank I work for.http://www.identitymonitor.citi.com/

Lindsay, I started my diet today.  Slimfast and Lean Cuisine for a month, an extra workout every week and no salt or sodas 2 weeks before.  I ate bad this weekend too but it was my last hurrah.I guess my BM is FI wants to buy a sports car and I really don't want him to.  He is moving forward with it against my wishes but he has the money so there is nothing I can say.  I just wish he would wait until after the wedding because stuff like this stresses him out and more stress we do not need.

Stephie, yes please e-mail me the info. You still have my e-mail, right? Hopefully it's not too late, but we enrolled with Life Lock to have some protection out there. We're doing our best to take all precautions right now. I'm just praying things turn out ok...may sound petty, but please keep us in your payers. This is the last thing we need, especially just weeks away from our wedding. He's hating Dallas...just 2 weeks ago, his bike was stolen out of our apartment parking lot. And now this... *deep breath*

I've heard the guy who created Life Lock got his identity stolen...I wouldn't trust that company.  But that's JMO.

I've been in a very blah mood lately. It's as if I have no motivation to do anything and nothing is going right. I'm ready to snap out of this.

My B&M is that Stephen had to take me to the ER on Saturday because I thought I had the flu. Turns out I have bronchitis which sucks, and now they have me on prednisone and some anti biotics, which is making it where I cant sleep. Stephen on the other hand, ended up getting either the flu or bronchitis. I feel so bad. I told him I would sleep down stairs that way he's less likely to catch anything else. Luckily I've disinfected everything. Whew.

My B&M is that DH and I tried to make an offer on a house yesterday, and it just didn't work out. Key word here - tried. The guy cut us off before we could even say what we wanted to offer, saying he wasn't compromising at all. We agreed before we even went in that if it didn't work out exactly how we wanted it to, we were going to walk away... so we did. :( It sucks, because we really liked the house, but apparently it just isn't the one for us. So we continue to look...

Marissa - I've never seen/used 30 day shred, but when I've done side lunges before the trick has always been to push your butt way back so your knees don't go over your toes. And make sure your weight is in your heels (like any lunges). It took me a long time to really get the weight in the heels thing. My B&M is that I finally convinced myself to go to the gym after much internal debate, and when I got home I had a big ol' piece of the cake my roommate's mother brought over yesterday. But it's ok, I'll record the calories, I'm pretty sure I burned enough to make up for it, but I might not get my slow churned light ice cream tonight :(

Resounding--if that's the way the seller is going to interact with everyone, that place will be on the market for a very long time.  You did a good thing by walking away, but if you're still looking several months from now, see if that guy is still trying to get rid of his property.  More than a month on the market will definitely start to wear him down.  Good luck to you, though!  You'll find something else, I'm sure of it.  There's lots of inventory out there right now.
