What would you offer to drink?

We have to buy the alcohol and mixers for our reception, and I'm having trouble deciding what to buy.  We're thinking bottled beer and wine, and then a limited selection of mixed drinks, but I can't decide on what.  I'd like to pick 2 or 3 kinds of liquor that would allow for a few different varieties of mixed drinks.  Probably Captain and some kind of vodka.  Any ideas?

This is our menu:

Apps: Mozzarella sticks, puff pastry, mushroom crepes, mozzarella and tomato salad, and crudités.Dinner: Herb-crusted pork tenderloin, Chicken Valentino, Tilapia Picatta, Tortellini alla Nonna, roasted rosemary potatoes, green beans and baby carrots, mixed green salad, and Italian bread.

We are having just beer (keg) and wine (probably multiple types/bottles) and signature drink of Black Russians and White Russians.

If you are offering only a couple of types of liquor, figure out what your guests will drink and have that. I'd have to say vodka and rum would probably be the 2 types that make the most popular drinks. Are you getting a bartender? Ask that person what are the few most popular drinks then have those mixers onhand.

Our venue only allows beer, wine and champagne.  It will save us a lot in the end.  If you have to buy your own I would stick with probably Rum and Vodka since it seems like most mixed drinks have those in them.  If they don't want to drink that than I say they can have water or soda or whatever non-alcholic beverage you choose to serve.

We are putting on our website that we are going to have the ingrediants for our 2 favorite drinks- tequila sunrise and vodka screwdrivers, we are also adding what other types of mixers we are having, such as sodas and orange juice.  We are giving people the option of bringing their own favorite liqour but letting them know in advance that it will be for anyone there.  We think this allows for any unique alcohol preferences without breaking our bank

we're doing premixed drinks and some kind of homemade wine....along with beer, and if your venue offers BYOB you might just spread the word.... we're going to have matrimonial themed drinks such as "blushing bride" and groomsmen and coke" just to be a little cheesy by to save on drinks too...

Besides beer and wine ... scotch, bourbon, rum, gin, vodka.  Yeah, that ought to do it.  If you really want to stick to three: scotch, rum and vodka.  If two, scotch and vodka.  But ... I think three would be a minimum.

We're having an open bar.  BTW, your menu looks yummy!
