We are having a four tier cake.  Two tiers are amaretto cream cheese pound cake with strawberry filling and the other two are Italian cream cake with chocolate truffle filling.  It is iced with vanilla buttercream.  If you are planning on keeping the top tier for your first anniversary I would pick your favorite flavor since you will be eating it again a year later!

I am making cupcakes for our wedding. They are choc. cake mix with peanut butter mixed in and then i am piping a peanut butter mixture in the center. The others are white cake made with applesauce & madrain oranges and the "icing" is cool whip & crushed pineapple. On vacation with the family last year I tested out several cupcakes on everyone and these were the 2 favorite. We are having a small cake made for us to cut and it will be lemon cake with raspberry filling

    We're having 3 flavors:
1 - sheet cake - chocolate cake with peanut butter filling
2 - bottom tier of cake - french vanilla cake with rasberry ganache filling
3 - middle and top tier of cake - pink champagne cake with strawberry whip filling

All three will have white chocolate buttercream icing.  My mouth waters every time I think about it!

My FMIL is making all the cakes for us (she bakes/ decorates cakes as kind of a side business from home), so for the decorative cake we're having chocolate with almond frosting, then we're having 2 sheet cakes: white with white buttercream frosting and red velvet with cream cheese frosting.  Nothing too crazy or fancy, but I know they will all be delicious!

I am having a three tier cake with only one tier actually real cake.  The other two layers will be fake but icing'd just the same as the real layer.  Looks no different.  And that is going to be a fun-fetti cake with buttercream icing.  Gotta go with buttercream.  Then I am having 6 sheet cakes.  It cuts back on price and easier to cut for all the guests.  Those flavors are lemon, chocolate and strawberry, and most importantly white cake.  A chocolate moose or raspberry filling are delicious if you want to do filling.  I'm a white cake, white icing, no filling kinda girl.

We're keeping it simple and going with a white and chocolate marble cake with a raspberry filling and buttercream icing.  A friend of mine had the formal cake with pumpkin and then had a white sheet cake and a chocolate sheet cake in order to accomodate and make it cheaper.  The pumpkin was phenominal and I would totally use it but I wanted to keep it simple enough that everyone would enjoy it.

For our main cake we have white for the top tier and marble for the second tier. The bottom tier is fake. Then we have four rounds. They are: Chocolate Chocolate, Lemon, Carrot Cake, and Mock Angel Food which is my favorite. If you are thinking about mock angel, make sure you find a baker who will do it. There are a lot of them out there that won't because they are somewhat difficult to make. It's also harder to cut, so it's best to not pick it for your cutting cake.

I'm not a cake person so we are doing ice cream cake instead. The bottom and top tiers are dark chocolcate with rasberries and middle tier is sweet cream with strawberries and the place we're getting it at is decorating it like a wedding cake. I don't know if they have this company in the states, but Marble Slab does do wedding cakes.

Our wedding is June 12th and outside so we are having lighter flavors. we ordered a:

Strawberry with Almaretto and buttercream icing and Key lime with buttercream icing. Yes the key lime is a cake and it is so fresh and delicious tasting that even though I am not a big fan of key lime pie, I cant wait to taste it again. They are fun cake colors too!

The grooms cake is Chocolate with a ganache center and  a little bailey's irish cream mixed in the buttercream frosting.

Hope this helps and good luck!

    Middle is Strawberry
    Bottom is orange

Sheet cake is half chocolate and half white, both cakes have buttercream icing.

Our wedding is at a winery, so I thought it would be kind of nice to incorporate a wine flavor in one of our tiers.  When we met with our cake designer, I asked if she thought this might be possible and if it would taste okay.  She thought about it for a few days and sent me some flavors to consider.  When we actually did the tasting the flavors turned out so much better than any of us could have imagined.  Because the number of guests increased we had to go with a fourth layer.  We decided on:
(Bottom Layer) Tier 4: Champaign - it is actually white cake with Champaign drizzled over it.  After she made it for us to try, she made it for some of her other clients, and before she knew what was happening everyone was changing their orders to the Champaign cake :-)
Tier 3: Chocoholic- not quite as rich as it sounds, which is good because I was afraid it would be too rich, but still very delicious.
Tier 2: We don't really need this tier, but we need the 4th tier, so we decided on Cinnamon Roll.  Since we don't need this for the reception, this layer will be saved for the next morning’s brunch with our guests.
(Top Layer) Tier 1: Champaign cake again for us to freeze.

All frosting is butter cream, with a light lemon flavor to enhance each cake flavor.  The cake will also have edible crystals all over it, so that it keeps with my bling factor, but more practical since guests can also enjoy the crystals.

Our cake is a white vanilla with strawberry filling, we wanted to alternate tiers but didn't want it to make it a hassle or run out of a certain flavor. Surprising groom with his own cake that is banana cake with chocolate filling.

Tiers one and three will be red velvet and middle tier will be white chocolate liquor all with buttercream icing. We are also having our favorite desserts in shot glasses - his Chocolate Pecan Pie...mine Better Than Sex Cake (or at the wedding "Black Tie Pudding Cake" for child's and Grandmother's ears/eyes, lol)

I'm keeping it fun. The first cake I ever baked for my fiance was funfetti (white cake with sprinkles inside) so that is what we are having for our wedding cake.
