I would like to have our reception catered however we have many people who are great cooks offer to make the food for our reception. I dont know what to do I know we would save a ton of money by not having it catered but I also dont want people to think we are cheap either by not having it catered. Please tell me what you think! Thanks

    Don't make your friends or family work for your wedding. It is very generous of them to offer, but a reception is your thank you to them for coming to your wedding.

    I would just have it catered.

    I would find a reasonable caterer to provide food for your wedding. Good family cooks could probably chip in for a shower, if they are hosting one, and/or make a wedding cake for you if you have bakers in the family.
