Random Mailbox Question

So maybe I'm just missing something, but I don't understand how this is supposed to work.

Our new place has a small mailbox attached on the wall next to the door outside our duplex. We have a key to lock it and there is a slot for the mailman to put stuff in.

So how are we supposed to send letters...?

    I lived in a house that was like that and asked the same question.   I was told to use a clothes pin or something similar to clip the outgoing letters to the front of the mailbox.  HTH

    Ooh in that case I think I would take them to the post office.   I wouldn't want someone stealing them.

    In NE we lived in a place like that and outgoing mail was suppose to go to the post office or a drop box it was not the most convenient.  I would ask you mail person to be sure.

    My OCD issues that I inherited from my parents prevent me from ever putting my out going mail in the mail box.. so on the rare occasions that I have to send something,  I just take it to the post office.

    Booo. I can stick most letters underneath the top cover without anyone seeing them, so I guess that is good
