Getting in Shape

So not motivated...

But I'm trying.  I forced myself for a 2 mile walk the last 2 days, grocery store shopping for lots of frutis & veggies all the while there is a cinnamon strudel cake & a huge pan of brownies my FI bought at a fundraiser.  I'm being good and keeping out of them.  UGH!!! Thank God for slimfast snack bars. LOL!

Re: So not motivated...

  • Why not have a very small brownie and then a piece of fruit or some veggies?

If you constantly deny yourself the foods you're craving you're much more likely to cave in and binge, but if you allow yourself a small amount of something and don't attach the negative feelings to it, then, well, that's healthy!

  • I had the same thought as Raynes.  Plus I would cut the brownies into small pieces and then individually wrap and freeze.  I've done that before and eaten a few over a couple weeks then forgot about them!
  • sharing that is a brilliant idea! I'm using that from now on
  • Try a weight loss competition!  (Or a 5k marathon, or a specific public goal).  My FI started a weight loss competition on Thintopia (I'm sure there's other web sites too) with some of the people in our company.  We competed against each other but still encouraged each other with our eating habits and exercise.  It was fun and something we could do together and help each other with!  It's great motivation if you know each week that people will see how you've done (they only see % of weight lost, not lbs).  We each put $10 in a pot and the winner now gets $100 for loosing weight!  Not bad for something you'd be happy about anyway!
