Getting in Shape

New to this Board! Breakfast recipe too!

Hi Everyone!

I've been lurking around forever so I thought I'd say hello!

My name is Sarah and I'll be getting married Nov 20th, 2010. 5 months to go as of yesterday! I stil have so much to do!

I know a lot of you are doing WW (and I am too!)  I'm 5'7" and 211 lbs. I've gained 28lbs since meeting my fiance and want to get down to the weight I was when I met him for our wedding day. (which would be 185) We recently joined Planet fitness together and its going great! We've gone 3 times a week for the past 2 weeks.

Here is my daily breakfast. (Which is replacing what I used to eat, a danish from the best bakery in town.) I'd share my breakfast because it really fills me up and lasts and I'm too lazy to make anything in the morning before work.

1 Oikos Vanilla yogurt (2pts) - - I think this has at least 8 grams of protein!
1/3 cup All Bran- Bran Buds Cereal (1pt) -- 13 grams of fiber!
Handful of berries (blueberries right now) (0pts)

I just sprinkle the bran buds on my yogurt and drop blueberries in and eat!

Let me know how you like it if you try!

Thanks!

Sarah

Welcome!  That's nearly the same breakfast I had today!

1 serving Greek yogurt (Canadian brand)
    15 g honey
    25g Fibre1 cereal
    20g craisins.

I just popped it in to MyPlate and it's just over 300 cals w/ over 20g of protein.

However, this is the first time I've had this for breakfast on a workday, and I'm hungry a bit earlier than normal.   Next time I think I need to add a banana or apple.

  • Thanks for the welcome!

Thats so awesome that someone else has tried this breakfast! (Or at least similar!)
I've added banana in myself too, and I find that adding two kinds of fruit helps keep hunger away.

I bought an organic mango yesterday at the grocery store and I think I'll chop it up and see how that is with the yogurt.

  • Sarah - great breakfast! but a lot of sugar and carbs. The vanilla flavor has about 15 (I think?) plus the blueberries is a lot (especially if you're swapping the blueberries for the banana).  Try switching to the plain flavor and keeping the blueberries...Just my humble advise :)
