Getting in Shape

Hello...I've been lurking for a little while

Hello! I've unofficially begun WW this week. Bascially, I'm trying it without actually signing up, but I've starting counting points with the help of an Ipod app called iWatch. And I've added a little morning excercise before work.

I wanted to ask if anyone would share there strategies for parties. I've been good (since Monday) but we have a Halloween party this Saturday and then a day at the FILs on Sunday. It takes every bit of will power when eating a FILs because you have to say no 3 times. For Saturday, I know they are ordering Pizza and there will be all sorts of goodies and drinks.

I don't want to waste 1 week of been good in one weekend.

  • I just try to limit my intake. If I would usually have 3 pieces of candy/pizza/anything, I try to just enjoy one piece. This way, you dont have to skip out on everything!

  • I'm on weight watchers now, go to the meetings and just finished week 3.  Next week we are talking about how to avoid eating Halloween candy.  On weight watchers you get your daily alloted points, but also an extra 35 flex points that you can decide to use or not (I use these as my weekend points) Eating not healthy one day isn't going to destroy your weight lose goals.  But maybe you might want to eat before you go so you aren't as hungry.  Since it's a Halloween party and not a dinner party you don't have to worry about being obligated to eat.  You might want to bring with you a veggie tray with some low fat for ff dip.  Or a less fattening desert to munch on.  Or just stick some of those fiber plus bars in your purse (they are delicious and only 2 points).  If you are planning on drinking a regular beer is at least 3 points and a shot of any liquor is 2 points, so mixed drinks with diet pop would probably be best.
