SATURDAY NEWBIE INTRODUCTIONS

Hey newbies, Please introduce yourselves in this thread! Welcome and remember everyone on GIS is trying their best to be helpful whenever someone needs it. Also check the older posts out, because a lot of FAQ have already been answered. We wish to collect the newbie intros in one place, since they are so frequent right now and there are many threads opened daily as it is. This is also a board where people usually stay active for a longer time, so it's really nice of you to introduce yourself first, before starting to post. Good luck with your lifestyle change and stay accountable in the daily threads!

Re: SATURDAY NEWBIE INTRODUCTIONS

  • Hi! I'm new, joined last night. I gave myself plenty of time to loose the weight I wanted to before my wedding. I joined a Gym (for the first time) about 3 months ago and lost 13lbs, thus far. Baby weight is hard to take off! Once I reach my my goal I will be thinner than I ever have been, and I really hope I can reach it. I've been strict on myself about making it t the gym at least 3 days a week, although I'm not really "dieting" I just am trying to cut back on some bad stuff. And I REALLY need to work on not eating late. I am hopeing that these boards help give me support to reach my goal!
  • Hi everyone!  I'm Sam and I just joined about...five seconds ago haha.  Over the past few years since I've graduated high school I've noticed a steady weight gain in myself, and I guess the reason may be that I hardly ever work out anymore (I used to be on dance team so I was exercising quite a lot), and now I have the motivation to get fit for my wedding!  I'm in school and have an internship and another job so I know it will be a challenge to find time to eat right and exercise but I wanted to join this board to find some support and to give support in return!  My wedding date is up in the air right now - could be as early as August 2010 and as late as July 2011 so I really don't know how much time I have to lose the weight I want to and keep it off.  Although the date will be set in stone by next month. Thanks to anyone who read my novel of a paragraph... :)

  • Hello All, I am new, just signed up! I am getting married Sept 4, 2010...working to lose 78 lbs over the next 13 months. I am using a combo of a workout my FI has put together for the both of us (obviously much lighter weights and more reps for me) and the couch to 5K plan. I am also attendng a meeting tomorrow for the Leukemia Team in Training, I hear they are a great network and what a great cause! I look forward to posting and hearing from every one. Best of luck!!
  • Hey guys!My name's Stephanie, I'm 22 years old and I'm from Germany. I got engaged about 6 months ago but due to some family problems my fiance and I didn't set a date until recently. After we finally agreed on a date last week, I signed up on The Knot immediately because it's actually a lot better than the German wedding planning sites I have seen so far.We decided on September 18, 2010 and now I have about a year to lose weight. I've never been really skinny (I've never been smaller than a size 8), but I've put on a lot of weight ever since graduating high school. Now our wedding is my motivation to lose weight as I would like to get back to my weight after graduation, which was around 165 lbs. My FI doesn't mind the "big me", I was actually a size 10 when we met, but he knows how unhappy I am with all my extra weight and he's willing to support me in my weight loss "ordeal" :o) Like pretty much every girl I just want to look good on my wedding day and I can't do that unless I feel good as well. See you around in the forum and I'm sorry for writing such a long post!
