Dress altering

This is absolutely positively the dress that I want for my wedding. I'm not a big froo froo dress girl and out of every dress I've looked at this keeps drawing me back. The only problem is the sizing. Nordstrom will have it in size 16 one week and two weeks later it'll be gone and there will only be a 10P left. Now I know that there is NO WAY even if I lose my weight before the wedding that I'd be able to fit into a 10P. My partner who of course hasn't seen the dress told me that next time they have a 16 I should buy it anyways.I'm worried though that it might end up being hard to alter. Not to mention expensive. Any alteration stories to share? <a href="http://s17.photobucket.com/albums/b88/stinegol/?action=view&current=_58295423.jpg&quot; target="_blank"><img src="http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b88/stinegol/_58295423.jpg&quot; border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Re: Dress altering

  • Very pretty...can you buy it online, especially if you have already tried it on in the store....just a thought!!!!!

  • It's very cute and it doesn't look like it'd be hard to tailor b/c of the side seams and seams at the top of the straps. The only thing I would worry about is the scalloping on the bottom, as it might be difficult to shorten. But I agree with pp, why not order online? Or is that where they only have certain sizes?
