AH makeup???

I posted this a couple of days ago but I don't think the girls who booked with Amanda from AH makeup ever saw it so here it is again:
To the ladies who are using Amanda from AH makeup.... i was about to sign my contract this past weekend and send in my deposit when i actually read the contract. The first little tid-bit read :
1) Makeup Artist's obligation to provide services hereunder is subject to the unavailability of the Artist as a result of sickness, accidents, acts of Goand other reasons beyond the Artist's control.
But it did not say anything about reimbursement or any idea of what would happen at that point. i emailed her to double check but shes out of town for a week so i won't hear back for a while. So i was wondering if anyone else noticed this and if they said anything or how they went about it??? I really love her work and doubt anything would happen but I feel as though there should be something written in the contract that I would get my money back??? Am i freaking out ? Did you just sign the contract and everything worked out??
I would love to hear any feedback from anyone who has used or is planning on using Amanda from AH makeup!!Thankss!!!

I am using her and I love her.  I don't think there is any reason to worry, but, as someone said the other day... it is always a good thing to ask what happens in the event of something like that.

I'm not really concerned with that wording, as it sounds to me as it is just a disclaimer to cover her in case of emergency.  If she doesn't provide services, I'm certain she will refund your $.

I am using her....I'm pretty sure this clause is on every vendors contracts....I at least know it was on my wedding planners. I went ahead without thought about it - I'm sure if she was for some reason unable to do your makeup for the wedding or whatever she would reimburse you for that time she was not able to make it and would only charge you for what you had already received. IDK though - personally I wouldn't worry yourself about it!

It was also in my venue's contract... I think it's just a "just in case" clause... my venue even said that they money is always returned with that clause, if something were to happen...

I am using her...I agree with PP, that same clause is in most of my other contracts with vendors as all. They have to put that clause in just in case something happens.

I'm not worried about it. I do know that she has an assistant. But I don't like to fret over every little detail, plus I can't predict what will happen - if something happens, we'll cross that bridge then.

I'm not using her and haven't used her but I agree with PP.  You can't always control things and sometimes, people get very sick.  Sometimes, there are trips to the emergency room.  I wouldn't worry about it but, in the end, it is your decision to go with her or not.

Yeah, i'm not going to let myself stress about it but I'm not going to sign the contract until i hear back from her. Of course i know things come up but i would just like to be reassured that her assistant will fill in or the money will be reimbursed. Just think its somewhat weird its not already written into the contract ?? Oh well...we shall see.

You should ask for a statement in there (can be handwritten or you should write it in yourself and ask her to initial) that in the event that she is not available, she will ensure an adequate replacement of her services or reimbursement.    I hate to be a debbie downer, but it's a contract, and under those terms, she has no obligations to refund your $ or find a replacement  - I am not saying that she will walk out with your money, but I think it is prudent that you ensure you are taken care of on your day.    You just never know.
