Friday wedding?

Hey guys,
How many of you guys are planning on having a Friday wedding? I am getting married next April and I've found a good videographer with a $150 ceremony only package (after the weekday discount, etc). The catch is they only let you book ceremony only packages 2 months before your wedding to keep the date open for the bigger packages. Are there a lot of you out there that are crazy like me and having your wedding on a Friday? Will I have a good chance of my Friday still being open 2 months before? Or should I just find someone else and get them booked now?
TIA & sorry for all the posts, I'm on bedrest until at least the end of this month so all I do all day is watch wedding shows & stalk the wedding websites. Laughing

Im having My wedding on a Friday! May 6th! It's a lot cheaper for some places to have your wedding on Friday! We will have both Reception and Ceremony there!
    Best of Luck to ya!

We are also doing a Friday wedding (10/15). Some things were cheaper and some things were about the same as Friday weddings are becoming more common. I started planning in Feb. for my October wedding and was suprised by the number of venues and vendors that were booked for Fridays.

We're having a Friday wedding next year. The minimums are much lower on Fridays. We booked our venue very early because I'm paranoid and didn't want to lose the perfect venue once I found it!

I am getting married on a Friday as well.(My date is 10/8. At first I wanted 10/10 since this year would be 10/10/10, but it falls on a Sunday.) I am on a budget so I figured that would be the cheapest day to get married but still be convenient for all the out of towners.

As far as the photographer you will have to ask yourself how important are the pictures to you. If it is not the number one thing then take the risk. If it is though find someone you can book now. :-)

I'm getting married on a Friday - Sept 17.  Same reasons - cheaper minimums at the venue I wanted!

My wedding is also on a Friday...06/18 - Everything was cheaper and we were able to get lots of extra perks for free for it being on a Friday. From flowers to photography...everything. Also the rehearsal dinner will be cheaper b/c it will be on a Thursday. I say go for it - not many ppl are willing to do Fridays but if you are it will pay off. Also April is not a crazy busy month for weddings like May and June are so you would hopefully be ok with waiting for your photographer - it is a risk but that one will be up to you.

My wedding was on a Friday.  It worked out great, we started the ceremony at 7 to allow guests to have time to get there in time, and partied late into the night.  (Hey, no one has to get up for church on Saturday!)

The minimums were much, much lower and we didn't have to worry about multiple events going on at our venue a the same time.  We had the place to ourselves the entire day.

Regarding the videographer... it's a gamble.   You have a pretty good chance I'd say, but Friday weddings seem to be getting more popular so it's a tough call.

Thanks everyone! I already have my date set for a Friday, I was just trying to figure out if there were a lot of people doing Friday weddings now or if I'd have a shot at getting the videographer 2 months out.
Again thanks for yalls help! I think I will wait on the videographer, I don't know if I even want one in the first place.

I'm playing devils advocate here, but as a guest, Friday weddings are a pain. It is hard to get off work, get home, change, and get where you need to be on time. Most Friday weddings we've attempted to go to, we have ended up missing the ceremony, unless we bit the bullet and left work significantly early. I understand they're cheaper, but I find them to be inconvenient for guests. Unfortunately, Friday weddings are becoming more popular, but I guess they're better than Sunday weddings.

And don't wait to book, just go ahead and book someone now.
