Getting in Shape

Need to VENT!

I am so aggravated with myself!  up 3 lbs on the scale this a.m. :(  I know the reason (drank beer Sat night and did not workout on Sunday because it was my scheduled rest day).  BUT it is just so aggravating!!  I can't cheat at all....  Now my goal is to lose those 3 lbs plus 2 more by Saturday!  I start my dress alterations on Sat.

  • I'm sure it will come off. Try not to worry, although that is frustrating. Drink plenty of water and eat plenty of fruits and veggies!
  • I doubt you gained 3 lbs just from drinking beer, unless you consumed a whole case.  My guess is water weight, esp if you ate something salty to go with the beer.

    Have you been doing measurements, as well as weighing yourself?  It's a better indicator of weight loss, and is reassuring even when the scale isn't moving.  Don't let the number on the scale dictate your life, and don't worry about it when you go to your fitting.  It will be fine.  Pinky swear.

    I agree with PP, measurements are a much more effective way to track weight loss.  And if you are concerned about dress fitting, the measurements are the only thing that matters anyway.

  • If you limit your total carb intake for the day to less than 5 you will loose that in no time.  :)
  • you also could be dehydrated from the beer! Being dehydrated can make your body hold onto extra water and make you weigh more.  I usually weigh more after a weekend of drinking, but it usually comes off by Tuesday or Weds, once I get rehydrated. 

    Don't be so hard on yourself lady, you're allowed to have the occasional adult beverage! :)

    Less than 5 carbs? That's impossible.

    I also have my first dress fitting on Saturday. She's just going to do the hem and bustle for now and worry about the side seams next month! HTH!
