Does anyone have a really weird motivation that keeps them working out and eating healthy? I have 3.
1) Beating stereotypes. I'm a 25 year old woman who works in IT. I also do a lot of gaming and I'm in a very long term relationship and live with my fiance. The stereotype for me is someone who eats unhealthy foods at my desk job, then orders a pizza and sits in front of a computer screen all night. I'd rather people be surprised when I tell them I'm a complete nerd than have them look at me and go, "Yes. I guessed that"!
2) The women in all my geeky movies, books and games. If they can do it, I can do it! I don't want to live vicariously through an avatar that can run for 6 miles. I want to actually be able to run 6 miles!
3) My horse. I always tell people, "The only man who's allowed to voice his opinion on my weight, is my horse." Well... I gained about 10 pounds last summer due to a bout of depression stemming from an overuse injury in my knee. I got on him and I swear to you all, he grunted. He's a complete jerk, but he gets to express it... he is the one carrying me around!
