Getting in Shape

Body Bugg

Ok stupid question, but what exactly is this? I've seen it mentioned in posts and get the general idea, but is it something you wear at all times or just working out?

You wear it all the time. Not in the shower, though. :-) The former GoWear Fit (has another name now) is the same thing. It uses 4 different readings to track your calorie burn. It then charts it for you when you upload the data to your computer - it gives you your total calorie burn for the day, as well as number of steps and minutes of activity. It can tell you how many calories you burn when you sleep, when you run,m when you lift weights, when you drive, etc.

You don't HAVE to wear it all the time. Like, if you go to a cocktail party you can leave it off. After a few weeks it knows your body well enough that it will guestimate how many calories you burn.

You can sue the website to log your food, so overall, it will tell you what your calorie deficit is for the day. I also have the wrist display which updates every 60 seconds - it tells me if I need to go burn more calories or walk more steps.

  • The Body Bugg is great, you can also order the same thing from Dotfit, called the Exerspy. It not only tacks your calories burned, but your steps AND your sleep patterns. So when you up load your history from your Experspy onto your computer, it will show you hour by hour the quality of sleep you got. Example (5:00am-6:00 only slept at 78% meant maybe you got jolted awake, your stomach was upset, whatever reason, you wearn't sleeping to your full potential) It's amazing and worth the money if you are serious about getting in shape and just need something to guide you during the day and help you make smart decisions. It's like carrying a personal trainer around with you. Plus, people tend to OVER ESTIMATE how much they work out and UNDERESTIMATE how many calories they take in...this will tell you the truth, and if you log your food on the website, and simply eat less calories than you burn...YOU WILL LOSE WEIGHT.
