The "Pleasure" Diet

I read about The pleasure diet in Glamour... and was laying in bed last night thinking about my eating habits. Yesterday on my way home from work, all I wanted to do was get a Subway Salad. I decided against it (basically because I was too lazy to go to Subway). At night, I ate WAY too much, and didn't feel satisfied. I realized, that my body wanted something specific and I denied it. I wasn't going to be satisfied until it got what it wanted. Honestly, I ate a TON last night and was still really hungry. I feel like if I would have gotten what I wanted I would not have over eaten. I would have enjoyed it and moved on.
Does this make sense? Anybody else look into the pleasure diet?
