Getting in Shape

P90x!

So I'm 3 weeks into the P90x fitness program..... I'm already more toned and I have soo much more energy; and I'm not even a third of the way done! I can't imagine what the end results will be :D For those of you you like a challenge I totally recommend this. I am doing it with my fiance and we do it daily; doing a fitness program together really helps to keep my motivated to do the daily exercises. It also has helped us to learn to eat healthier. Just a suggestion for those of you looking for ideas!!

Re: P90x!

  • I really want to try P90x but I dont always have time everyday with my insane schedule.  Does it take alot of time each day?  I also am trying to find a friend to split it with and we can do it together and stay motivated.  I wish my fiance could do it with me but we have opposite work schedules and rarely see each other.. sadly.  I am glad that it is working for you and you are doing great!  Keep up the good work!
  • I've considered trying this but I have to admit - I'm afraid :) I can never seem to stick to DVDs for very long, and I can't imagine how I would find an hour a day to do those workouts!

Perhaps when I get a bit closer to goal and I'll actually be able to see the muscles I'm working on. :)

  • I am on day 78 of P90X and I love it! I don't really get bored with the program because everyday of the week I'm working out a different part of my body. It's definietely a challenge, but I feel so much better about myself when I complete my workout each day. The workouts are pretty long, I'd say most days are alittle over an hour long. This scared me at first, because I didn't think I would be able to fit an hour into my schedule. Well, it's been 78 days and I have made it work! I was afraid to start P90X too because I've heard how hard and intense it was. I probably had the discs for a couple months before I pressed play for the first time. I haven't looked back since. I am loving my results!
  • My dad decided to do the P90 challenge after he turned 50! He lost 55 pounds by the end of his 90 days and has since then purchased the P-90X and LOVES it! I am starting the program this week! With a Wedding next year and a new life share with someone I want to be fit and healthy and I've seen the Beach Body programs work for so many people. It really does work if you stick to the program and just eat right! The work-outs aren't that long either it's just choosing to do it... HERE'S TO GETTING MOTIVATED!!! GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!Cool
  • Yoga X is 93 minutes long but otherwise most days run an hour to an hour and 15 minutes per day. The dvds fit your water breaks and stretches right into the workout so part of the time is made up of that.

RunNTeach23 : My fi and myself work opposite schedules as well, if we both work the same day then i do the workout in the am and my fi does it in the evening. When we have a day off together we are at the same point in the program and can do the workout together.

acogswell : congrats on making it so far!

To all of you who say you don't think you have time, think about how often you sit and watch an hour of tv.... turn that hour into something productive! If I can do it, I know you can too!!!

Yes. Each workout is around an hour long at the minimum. The Ab Ripper (17 min) gets tacked on to about 3 days a week. The Yoga X dvd is the longest at 90 minutes. But they are definitely good workouts!
  • My roommate and I are starting this in the next few weeks.  I'm so excited for a new challenge!
  • I JUST got this :)
  • Everyone on here sounds so motivated and happy about this workout!  i think I am definitely going to try it once school is out for the summer--- 4 more days!  I have almost a year and a half til my wedding so I have plenty of time to get started!  I just hope I can keep up with it like everyone else!  Thanks for the encouragement and keep going!

  • My FH & I started this last night with the chest/arms/back & ab workout. Let me tell you.... my arms currently feel like cooked noodles. Please keep your fingers crossed for us that the results will be worth the pain!!
  • Hi all!

First, congrats to those who are currently doing this program, and congrats to those who have finished it!  What a HUGE accomplishment!  I am scared about it too...but have been curious.  I might borrow it from my BIL next month.

Can anyone at any fitness level start with this program?  I have heard that you need to be somewhat fit to start it.  I am just getting back into working out after 4 years (and two children) so my cardio stamina isn't great yet.

What fitness level were you all at when you started P90X?

    Thanks!!
