Getting in Shape

Fourth of July Weekend Accountability!!

Hi All,

I am definitely a new poster, but I already have noticed that after I post something I am more accountable about my actions/eating patterns, so I thought I would post something here about the upcoming holiday weekend:

I am finally on track with my eating choices this week, and usually when i am doing well I get excited and end up sabotaging my good efforts.  So right now I am posting here saying that I am not going to let that happen this weekend!  Yes, it is a holiday and a weekend so there will be little cheats here and there, but I am promising to be accountable and not go completely overboard with my eating/drinking/anything this weekend.

I hope you all have a great fourth and I hope to be able to post here on Monday and tell you how well I did! :)

    Good for you!!
I join you in your vow.
I've lost 6.4 pounds in the last month since I really committed to weight loss, and I hope to keep the small but steady weight loss going in the months ahead.  Here's to holiday weekends where we can have some indulgences and enjoy ourselves, but don't go crazy!!
  • Good for you girls!

I just told my FI that I will make a WW pasta/Veggie salad to bring to a party this weekend. We have to bring a pass around dish and said I want to make something I know is healthy and that I will enjoy. I dont eat burgers and hot dogs and I doubt there will be any grilled chicken - and for some strange reason I dont like the idea of traveling in 90 degree heat with uncooked chicken to bring to the party - haha. So this is how I'm going to help prevent going overboard on eating at this food and firework fest. AND I'm staying away from the chips! I don't even like chips but when at a party I always eat them.

  • Hi! Ive never posted on this board.
But reading these posts this am inspired me.

I just saw photos of me from a cookout last weekend-- OMG
They made me feel horrible. I knew I put on weight-- but I think iI was in denial.

Tomorrow morning I am headed right back to weight watchers- -even if they have told me that I have gained 40lbs since Ive been there-- I dont care- because its a start...

And I am starting by looking up WW recipes to bring to my ffamilys 4th cookout--
I am going to bring the potato salad they have on there today-- and bring a pack of Hebrew ntional 99% FF Dogs with me with some whole wheat buns!

Try the turkey hot dogs!   They are very good and are only 45 calories!  Good luck to all of you this weekend!!  I have planned out my little splurges this weekend, but otherwise I plan to keep on track!  Not only is it a holiday weekend, but it is also my FI birthday (Actually on the 4th), so it's double trouble for me!

  • Yes for the turkey dogs!! My FI always turns up his nose at first to those types of things but he loves them and thinks we should have them on hand at all time - lol!

  • Good luck to everyone in making wise choices this weekend! I wrote at the top of my tracker--veggies and fruit, skip the buns, one glass of water for every beer/alcoholic drink (maybe to help me drink less?) :) lol
  • today I was craving a hot dog. I stuck a pice of leftover grilled chicken on a hotdog  bun with some sauerkraut and mustard. I really didn't expect it to be very good, but it tasted great!
Last night I drank 16 oz. of water for every beer...and had 2 mgd 64's and 3 coors light pints, this is an improvement for me. Up until a few weeks ago I was drinking like 15 drinks per week. I didn't drink any nights during the week this past week, and I work tonight so I won't be drinking tonight either.
